2:20 Some background of what was happening when these idyllic images were shot. Polish city of Gdynia was renamed Gotenhafen after the Goths, an ancient Germanic tribe after the city and Polish seaport were occupied in September 1939 by German troops. Some 50,000 Poles were subsequently expelled to Central Poland. Kashubians who were suspected to support the Polish cause, particularly those with higher education, were arrested and executed. The main place of execution was Piaśnica (Gross Plassnitz), where about 12,000 were executed. The German gauleiter Albert Forster considered Kashubians of "low value".

Nice movie... but hapiness built on tragedy... thousands of Gdynia's residents were forced in few hours to leave key in doors and were transported by freight wagons to other cities in Poland

when one watches these short movies one can be involved and I wonder with some doubt whether the lovley girl made it in 44/45 when that world came tumbling down. I hope so.. I really do. x

Dankeschön-. Mein Vaters Familie wurde vertrieben.,während der Vater meines Vater ,der Stalingrad überlebte in russischer Gefangenschaft war.
Das wußten sie nicht mal zu der Zeit.
Meine Familie lebte dann in Mecklenburg.erst.Das warerst amerikanische Besatzungszone ,dann wurde es gegen Berlin eingetauscht und damit dann Gebiet der DDR. Nachdem mein Opa 1954 aus der Gefangenschaft kam wurden sie dann noch mal enteignet. BODENREFORM .
Ich durfte nicht studieren .Mein Vater war bevor ich geboren wurde aus politischen Gründen inhaftiert. Und ich wollte nicht in die SED .
Meine Oma hat damals 10 000 Mark bezahlt,damit mein Vater aus dem Gefängnis kam
Danzig und Sopport ist wunderschön.Die Heimat meiner Vorfahren ,ebenso Königsberg.
Ich habe es mir mal angeschaut 2012.Es ist wunder wunderschön.

Ach wenn meine Mutti diese Filme doch noch hätte sehen können 🤔🤔🤔🤔😧😧 Leider fehlte ihr das Geld um ihre Heimat noch einmal besuchen zu können. Heimweh hatte sie ihr ganzes Leben. Jetzt ist sie schon 10 Jahre tot.
