Another great video. I really like the mix with the drone footage, so shout out to Skycheck Media. These updates are such a great service to everyone but especially to people not from the area. I have never been to Honeymoon Island, but it looks like somewhere we should check out. I chuckled when you said 61° was nippy...it is about 15° F as I drink my coffee this morning. so thanks for the "warm sunshine". Water temps in the ocean close to me rarely get above 45°F even in mid summer, so swimming in FL would be a no brainer today. Good safety tip on the bacteria. It isn't something a non-local would think about. When do you (or the state) think bacteria levels might settle down?
Thank you for the kind words and for your continued support of our videos! For us Floridians when it gets below 70 degrees Fahrenheit it’s considered “cold” but certainly not cold for our northern friends. Given and based on the timeline of the hurricane that hit Ft. Myers, my best guess is it could take up to a year for everything to reset in the water.
Wow! When the storm is over, and the visible damage is repaired, it truly is just the beginning. No doubt the state / county officials will be doing testing to reassure tourists that things are "safe" especially in time for spring break.
