You need investors my friend. We need heavy machinery to process palm at large scale, and also to go through the value chain. Your point should have been to encourage more local investors to play in that sector. But we need both foreign and local investors.

So would you rather have the sector wallowing away while people die in abject poverty or have people who will come in with their expertise and intellectual skills to have the sector working and the jobless graduates at least can find places to earn a living? Foreign investors in any sector in Nigeria should be encouraged because there’s simply no job in the country and people are dying. Is not a enough to claim you can do it by mouth but nothing is working.

It is really a shame talking about bringing in foreign investors to come and establish palm plantation in Enugu/Southeast. Have we lost our mind and dignity. Put the palm seedlings in the ground and go do other things. Come back and start harvesting in four years time and harvest for the next thirty years. That's how you and your family can hope to count in millions (Unless you do it the EVANS THE KIDNAPPER way).

My dear! It's baffling. While a few of our people are farming and making money, lots of the others just talk and act so lazily. In our compound, for example, my dad, just to show them that you can make lots of money from palm trees and its associated products, a few agriculture trees or short and high yield palm trees as they call them in the village were planted. Just about a your or two, they couldn't harvest enough of the palm trees. Yet, they prefer quick money or handouts, which doesn't come or enough to their desire.

Do you really think it is as easy as put palm seedlings in the ground and go do other things, then, come back and start harvesting in four years time and harvest for the next thirty years? I just laugh

Samuelekwo, are you insane. ?. How can you talk of people dying and graduates not having a job when the actual problem lies with our people who have refused to do something to help themselves . What expertise does it need for people to go to thle ministry of agriculture, pick up palm seedlings and plant in their land. Why do our people like to sit down, do nothing, and only complain?. Hunger will teach y,all some lessons.. we are lazy set of people and need to wake up.

Talk they say is cheap. Industrialisation is not done by mouth or ego, it happens and run successfully by big capital investment and necessary skills.

Okomu snd Presco all foreign and successful in Edo and Delta. South east need foreign investors with what it takes to develop and produce oil palm. Wild palm is all we have in the Southeast. Foreign investment is the only solution.
