Actually, when Indian traders travelled to the West for trade, their travelling path was from Kashmir to Afghanistan and then to other countries. But many times they got ambushed by robbers in Afghanistan. So, they hired local people as a guide and protectors. They were so happy with the local's help that they built a Buddha statue for them as a gift.
