When I first listened psycho was in TH-cam, I was like "damn, this is so dramatic and intense, beautiful" and then I went to Spotify but I didn't feel the same vibe, I was kinda confused and disappointed. I thought I was the only one who notice it hah.
I thought I was going crazy lmao. The strings in the second pre-chorus were so beautiful and gave me chills, so when I heard the spotify version I was like....where the strings :,)
I think the synth specially gives the song the psycho mood to it, it sounds like the iconic bgm from the movie if I’m not mistaken, so it a a big difference, and the strings give the classy and elegant vibe we saw in the sets and outfits from the members, the overall concept of the video.

It drove me crazy, I LOVED the string synths in the MV version. It made a HUGE difference in the mood of the song. I would often search spotify for under the radar MV versions of the song until they all got taken down.
yes i noticed too, i think sm made an mv mix and an another mix for streaming. the mv mix sounds more red velvet-ish with the extra synths and that kind of adds the song more energy so i get why they used it on the psycho mv and stage. the spotify mix is a little darker and that’s how it’s supposed to be when you listen to the english demo. i don’t think it’s a really big deal anyway, it’s actually interesting to listen to both versions and compare them + also some synths in the bridge are missing in the spotify ver
I wish they had the synths and strings on the itunes version. Without it the song is still good but you could actually feel the energy and emotion with those added sounds. It's a bit less impactful now than it would have been with the sounds.

Actually the two versions make sense, it's just that, a lot of Reveluvs prefer the MV version because it's more colorful. But to fresh ears, the radio/streaming version sounds more appealing and _maybe even generic_ because it isn't as overwhelming; so it's an effective marketing strategy in that, it gets new people to listen to RV when they first hear this song on the radio, and it forces Reveluvs to watch the MV more. They did this with power up too! I noticed it in seulgi’s prechorus. There were sound effects that emphasized her voice which they removed, also more harmonies.

This is unfortunately one of the many cases where the music video version has its own version than the stand alone studio version. It could have been an after thought during the music video production to add what’s missing, or they forgot for the other. Who knows.
this comes to show that little additions like that can make a huge difference in a song, the synths/strings make the song 10x better and I literally can’t listen to the streaming version, it just doesn’t compete where it can’t compare
I think it's always common in some artists as well, some might not contented to the music while they upload (scheduled) the release in streaming sites so they added what they think is absent on their official TH-cam videos

I like this because 1. The synths and strings accompany the dreamy visuals in the MV. So without the visuals it’s nice to focus more on the beat. 2. I listen to both the streaming version and MV a decent amount so it’s nice having two versions of a song I like. Not the same every time I listen

I have update peoples You can go on your laptop and download an mp3 file of the TH-cam psycho version then open Spotify on your laptop and add local files. You now have the TH-cam version on your laptop, add it to your kpop playlist or whatever you have and then it will be downloaded on your phone ✌️

it's sad cause i truly feel like the synth add so much more to the song and im sure if they were on spotify i would not have gotten tired of psycho this quickly but it's okay i guess !

You can go on your laptop and download an mp3 file of the TH-cam psycho version then open Spotify on your laptop and add local files. You now have the TH-cam version on your laptop, add it to your kpop playlist or whatever you have and then it will be downloaded on your phone ✌️

i wonder why they did that because the synth and the strings sound really good in the song, and i cant hear that when i listen to it on spotify. thats stupid of them.
This happens with so many artists it’s so freaking annoying. Like to me Tomboy’s part where soyeon says “ why are you cranky” is harder to hear where as in mv it’s very loud and gives a lot stronger impression. I hate that the music is quieter than in mvs. Might as well just switch subscriptions at this point

For some strange reason the Korean version don't appeared to me. I'm not fluent in any of those languages so I just thought it was different haha
