- The time has come to share the complete story of our log cabin build, from start to finish! In this video, you'll see a timelapse of the entire construction process, showcasing the hard work and dedication that went into creating our dream log cabin in nature.
Building this log cabin was a project I largely tackled myself, with invaluable help from friends. We had an amazing experience building this cabin on a budget, turning it into our dream home. Through this journey, we’ve learned that everything is possible if you put in the effort.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. We had a fantastic time, with almost no major injuries-though one colleague did break his arm, which reminded us of how physically demanding this work can be.
Looking back, it’s incredible to see how much we’ve accomplished, yet there’s still much to do. This video captures our journey and progress from the very beginning to the final touches of our log cabin in nature.

Hard pressed here in Canada to find a bald guy, crane operator and the guy with the beard with these skillsets. Besides U wud wait for them to show up weeks later, and have government inspectors bothering U every day. These homes here wud be built n a factory n transferred onsite as 100M -20 to 55 yr. old males are not looking for work in the US are playing video games and eating pizzas, etc. The stats are there for u to digest i.e., Eberhardt study (3 months ago).

Logging is one of the foremost resouces that keep Kanada's economy afloat. To add insult to injury local mills here ship 8x8s directly to china and asia where real-value added takes place but we love our walmarts n wayfairs (all wood products like tables, chairs, cupboards, etc. now come from offshore). I think we have 1 plant making furniture here in ON.

TIPP: You bether watch the movies from: Nik Rijavec „Off Grid Log Cabin Building“!!!! HE REALLY BUILD HES LOG HOUSE ALL BY HIM SELF (1 man working). Only little help (1 more man) when put up the big, heavy Logs for the roof and to cover the roof. Also for some help inside the house when he had to move very heavy parts. This is aceptable as he use help for saefty and health reason.

It's good forest management to thin the trees. It makes more rainfall available to other trees, opens the canopy, & gives brambles & other plants to grow beneath which benefits the creatures.

Beautiful house in a gorgeous setting. Hope you don't mind me asking; Why is there a gap above the ground floor windows? Am I missing something?
With time the logs will shrink and settle towards the ground, this will prevent the windows from popping out.
