What is Value added and Non Value added actions in the office? | Scheduling Process
What's up! Hillbilly Millionaire here. We're going to be breaking down something for office workers were 2 Second Lean absolutely matters.
Even though we're not in manufacturing, we're going to be teaching our favorites. Everyone's favorite value added versus non-value-added. So we're going to get right into that.
Does it change the parts? Non-value added everything else. Now you might say, well, what if I'm in the digital space? Does it change the part? Okay. If you're opening an email scrolling around opening email does not change anything. Clicking the new button creates a new email that changes something.
Clicking the title does not change anything. Typing an email in does change stuff. That's value added. This is going to be an office-based version of value-added, and non-value added.
Now we'll get into non-value added being does not mean it is not necessary. How much was the sending email? If I don't open the email first, just because it is non value added does not mean that it is not necessary.
So, guys keep that in mind when you guys are watching this video. So many people say that lean doesn't apply to office work. And here we are with a fantastic example of that. What we think we're doing all day is most of the time non-value-added work guys.

I single-handedly perform all of the functions that 4 people used to do PLUS additional duties in 4 separate areas that no one else has ever done in the same workday.
Lean can't be applied in the office? BS!
