My daughter was only told last year by her school that football wasn't going to happen for her. She's on scholarship in the USA this year playing soccer!

The parents on the sideline haven’t got any better ladies! My 9 year old stopped playing because the opposition parents kept swearing at our kids 😳
We also had armchairs at the tournaments, maybe they were jealous? 🤣
Some adults tell kids "You will never do that" to make you try harder. My parents started work at 14 and had to work hard. As a kid my parents thought I would rebel and show them different. The thing was that when I was very little I just believed anything my parents said and just stopped trying. I missed out on so much, but I did win stuff at city level in the game I later played, both individual and team, despite being B team standard, as I was that much more determined.

One of my biggest regrets in life is that I actually listened to that teacher that told me I'd never be able to make it as a footballer as I was a girl, I'm glad you guys stuck with it and look at where women's and girls football is now!
