@@TheSkeletor612im late by a few years but Lidström is batter then orr. Orr made alot of points but Lidström is more complete and have defenitly batter defensiv qualities.
I never used to like chara, probably because I liked the Canucks... but after hearing him congratulating all the St. Louis Blues in the handshake line after losing game 7... I have so much respect for him now
Growing up playing defense, Lidstrom was always my idol. His dedication to being the best at the position combined with the way he carried himself on and off the ice are nothing short of inspiring.
To me, as a Bruins fan, Bobby Orr was a revolutionary player and obviously considered the greatest only second to Gretzky ever. Nick Lidstrom is a close second. I only say that because it’s not fair to either Orr or Lid to compare them to one another. For Lidstrom to win 7 Norris Trophies, in the era that he played in, is unprecedented, BECAUSE he had flaws. He wasn’t necessarily the best skater, he wasn’t without a doubt the best passer, but his entire game was as complete as you can get for an NHL defenseman. If you say he’s the best ever, no argument is justified.
Joe Sakic said the toughest defensemen to beat one on one Nicklas Lidstrom he was faster than you and smarter you could never beat him one on one. he was tough to play against.
Imagine if Detroit had nick on one line and Chara on the other. Plus add players like rafalski and kronwall who were both underrated that would be one of the most lethal top 4 pairings all time imo
Imagine being so good you forget which all-star game you're talking about.
Lidstrom=GOAT Defenseman
Orr
Orr better

I agree, Lidström is the goat defender. And one of the best of all time amongst all players.

Man Chara is such a great person... I love him.
Lidstrom wasnt one of the best, he was the best and that coming from a Colorado fan.
You must not have seen Bobby Orr play.
@@johnbrowne3950 Offensively Orr was ahead of lidstrom, he was in his own league. But Nick defensive skills are unmatchable.
@@steezyfreeskier I'm not going to say anything about Lidstrom. But, as a Bruins fan, I'm more than happy to have had Orr, Ray Bourque and Brad Park.
@@johnbrowne3950 I hate the Bruins but Orr is bar none the greatest defenseman ever. By a large margin.

2 of the classiest men you could ever hope to see in your lifetime

Being a wings fan growing up and watching lidstrom play the game of hockey, control the game was remarkable.
My God I love Hockey with all of my heart... Bless these Legends and just maybe one day they will be a part of the Hockey Gods..
Love them both! Class acts on and off the ice💪
Its still hard not seeing Lidström play

0:28 Chara and his NYI won that game over DET 3-2.
Chara was a +2 and had 2 hits from 7:03 TOI.
Lidstrom had one goal from 4 shots and had 22:20 TOI.
Chara classy guy.
Man this was cool, amazing athletes and leaders.
Lidstrom my 3rd favorite Dman, right behind Coffey and Leetch.
Joe Sakic said the toughest defensemen to beat one on one Nicklas Lidstrom he was faster than you and smarter you could never beat him one on one. he was tough to play against.
Pavel Bure the only one to ever beat Lidström 1:1
Imagine a team with both lidstrom and chara
Lol they’d have to have done the Norris like the Jennings in that case
1. Lidstrom
2. Orr.
Don’t @ me
I believe you are about to be @ed.
Lidstrom is incredible. Bobby Orr is Mr. Hockey
@@joer8854 No, Gordie Howe is Mr. Hockey
Sander Goldshteyn yup

Is it just me or does it look like the fans just arnt surprised anymore.
Most of them in the white t shirts were pens fans
Such a cute couple
be careful nick. that giraffe might cross check you in the face
Yeah, Lidstorm and Chara are the complete opposite. Lidstorm never had to rely on cheap shots to be successful.
His hairline isn't perfect
