It's reminiscent of the classic and vintage 80's Chanel when Karl Lagerfeld was just new to Chanel. I get why some people are saying it's "tacky" that's because it was inspired by the time when 80's Chanel was all about maximalism and over the top aesthetic. I love this bag by the way, I think it's perfect for guys or it's a unisex/androgynous classic flap version.

My only concern would be the strap being too thin when you load it up with all your day-to-day "essentials"! hahaha Do let us know how you two get along after you've gotten to know each other a bit better! Chanel markets this as a travel bag. It has features that cater to that. I almost bought it, got the Classic Maxi Double Flap in Black Caviar/ Silver Hardware. I like them both. Hers looks like Lambskin. More maintenance, but gorgeous.

+Lili Caeiro the classic flap is more because it’s a little different in terms of the actual craftsmanship. The classic flap has more detail and would take longer to make. But a classic style is always more expensive. I hope that answered you question x
