    Hey man you are awesome for not only these videos and travel hacks but in general with everything. I opened up my Preferred account with the 80k and can't wait to use it with me own fiance for possible Honeymoon. Thank you so much!!! I'm a huge fan. Also, your fiancé was amazing in Agents of SHIELD as well! Happy travel hacking!

    Lots of praise for the property, but what your comparables ? (Mandapa, Conrad, Regis, Ritz etc)

    • @thezacharyburrabel
      @thezacharyburrabel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stayed at Mandapa and the Conrad in Bali - Conrad doesn't come close to Alila but it's not as remote and a great deal for the price. I would say if you're looking for a place in Ubud - Mandapa is great and personally I would recommend over the Viceroy which I dined at and felt it more dated than Mandapa. Ritz and St Regis in Bali are also great, but you'll find them to be much larger resorts vs Alila; however, not as remote. Uluwatu is quite a ways south so keep that in mind if you choose it.

    • @JW-io8nb
      @JW-io8nb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Appreciate the prompt response. I stayed at Mandapa during my time in Ubud and absolutely loved it. St Regis is typically my go-to hotel in Bali, but I will definitely give Alila a try next time.

      @@JW-io8nb If you're throwing points at it, it's an incredible deal but the aesthetic is very different - which you can obviously see form the video, but the service and quality of the resort was akin to Mandapa imo.

    • @JW-io8nb
      @JW-io8nb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Akin to Mandapa? Awesome to hear! Yes, I will be throwing points at it with a Guest of Honor: Globalist touch.

    This place is stunning!
    Question: how long does it usually take to earn 30,000 points? Just like regularly (because your girl doesn't have $500 to spend on anything lolololol).

    • @thezacharyburrabel
      @thezacharyburrabel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say the quickest is to sign up for a credit card...chase sapphire preferred is currently offering 60k after $4k in 3 months, and for business owners Ink Business Preferred is offering 80k after $5k spend in 3 months. Instant 1:1 transfer to hyatt, plus they're just amazing points to earn anyways.

    Did the hotel offer complimentary breakfast or lounge access to Globalist members booking via points?

    • @thezacharyburrabel
      @thezacharyburrabel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Double check but I believe Globalists do get free breakfast...I'm explorist so it wasn't available to me.

      @shibbyman1307 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve read mixed reviews that breakfast was included for everyone and Globalist was given $100 resort credit. I’m staying here in July and hoping breakfast is included for Explorist!!

    What an utterly abject and loathsome sacrilege of a presentation of a marvel of elegance and conscious design and function! this astounding masterpiece by architect Soo Chan does not deserve this devaluating manic imbecile in a monkey tee-shirt bloviating Alila Villas majesty to the over-saturated vanity of vanities profane marketed hyped purchase oriented world. Just the very opening crouch and cringe worthy buffoon gooning sets the tone of profanation of a world cultural heritage site (it should be, hope so).
    Here is my own review of this loathsome twitching acting out of a just barely 13 year old ADHD hyper cypher defamation of the Villas. Soo Chan's design and execution honors the natural environment and energies vibrant where ocean meets land, a liminal and palpable placing in which to dwell and absorb, to revere and thus to be rejuvenated. This video presentation demeans the Villas and the intentions of their visionary designer, Soo Chan:
    "Turn the volume off on this one, this manic pac man, its tee shirt says it all aka irreverent vacuous yank yaphank consumer/devourer as loathsome and predictable vapid tween psycho-pomp here today gone in a nano-second non-occupant of its own body, a contortive id possessed and faked ecstasy, a mere display, blatant, exaggerated and overstated...ugh...Ugly American Exhibit A. aka DUDE!!!! BRO!!!
    "My suggestion for just barely tolerated viewing of this ID-eo: Slow the speed of the video to a more human and meditative pace, I recommend 0.25 which delays the hyperactive yeti's alas inevitable return too too long extended toward its blessed relieving end, and again, volume off, put on more contemplative music (Tom Scott's Music For Zen Meditation here on youtube, or ambient sounds, ocean waves and wind, bird song, Brian Eno, etc., then view the footage of Soo Chan's (the artist/architect who designed Alila down to the cutlery) elegant achievements (form) - and practical (function) beyond knobs and flushes but, as equally or more important, the internal designs catalyzing stilling reorientations of and to soul/psyche, body, mind, spirit, balance, wholeness. There is a spirit of place, Virginia, and Chan has honored and enhanced the spirit of land and sea at this magical setting. This vid's presentation completely profanes location, intention and function of the architect and the Villas.
    Alas, now, gadzooks, under new owner and management (I shudder to think from the deform and dysfunction of this promo)!!! Oblivion only knows what hath or wilt be wrought upon the authentic and imminently evident yet not overstated reverent Majestic Placement and Nature Herself powerfully present. Chan's elegant, thoughtfully, visualand subtly evoked and crafted manifest inductions are consciously intended, are designed down to each and every visual line of these villas inside and out and surrounds, the walkways and vistas, all masterfully crafted, inspired evocative of Louis Kahn's National Assembly Building of Bangladesh, a world treasure.
    This Hyatt hype of a promo trivializes and devalues Chan and Alila Villa Uluwatu. Try again, Hyatt. This is a massive fail in so many ways, downright pornographic in its most accurate meaning of the word. The nervous visual jitter of the footage itself grates, unsettles.
    To get a sense of who Soo Chan is and what he intends in his creations, watch this:
