Why do you think or require that it’s supposed to be working in a fight? It’s an art form that’s using martial movement drills to educate the body… it’s not trying to be “practical “ … both people in the video have done combat sports, they know the difference
This is nice dancing with 100% cooperative/passive partners. Amazing how many people believe the advertising that this is martial whatsoever. Go back to Daitoryu if you want something that has martial value.
The hours of practice causes the mind to think in a different way. Almost like creating muscle memory. A good fighter will take what he needs and what suits him from the various disciplines. Remember, it's the man that matters not the style of fighting. You can build a soldier, but a fighter is born. If Mike Tyson had taken up Karate or judo, he would have been world champion in either of those styles. You can take a man with no fight in him and teach him to follow routines and even pass Dan grades, but put him in against a born fighter with natural instints and he's chopped salami. This is just another fighting style and there is much to learn from Akido.
@@andrewdangelo2454 Why do you think it has to be not pratical? If you ve done combat sport means don't you know how to fight. You know how fight in and possibly win a match. Aikido means already have won a fight and a technique should display this idea.
@@juhas514What the hell??? 😂 Aikido movements are from the Katana but designed for hand to hand combat. There is no theater, the movements and principles were made to avoid confrontation through deflection and technique.
Great vid, thanks a lot !!
I love the draped bedroom curtains. makes the attacker feel all drowsy. smart!
Vraiment c'est la base qui compte
The dream like quality of this video matches the skill demonstrated. In what Universe would any of this work against a real attack?

All very pretty, but is it practical? The attacks looked a bit airy fairy to me.
The attacks are imitations of attacks with katana, but without the sword. They're not supposed to be practical, it's all a theatre.
