Josh Hamilton at old Yankee Stadium will forever be iconic…the way the Yankee faithful embraced his performance was magical and watching it live on TV I felt that magic as well!!
And it's wild because the warehouse is "only" 430 or so from home plate. But add the 25 feet elevation from home plate to eutaw street and the 10 feet of elevation where the warehouse starts and it requires an absolute bomb
MLB the old style derby allowed for us to actually admire the HRs. This new format is a bit chaotic, you follow one HR and the next one is already hit before the one before lands.
I don't know why Major League baseball was trying to speed up the home run Derby and then wondered why they were tiring out their players afterwards so that's why I don't like this version of it they should just go out to the outs version of it instead of the timed version of it just because they want their older fans to watch this thing when it's mainly for the kids anyway why I have no clue.
Frazier's coming back to win it at home in Cincinnati, and Harper's comeback to win it at home in Washington too, were I believe two of the most dramatic HR Derbies because they were going up against the clock. Guerrero-Pederson epic battle was dramatic too, and one of my favorites. Tonight's Hernandez-Whitt Jr. unforgettable battle reminded me of the previously aforementioned. Hamilton was dramatic too because of the New York crowd. Performance wise with impressive showings: 1) Stanton 2) Frank Thomas 3) McGuire & Sosa 4) Abreu 5) Griffey
Completely misunderstood the assignment. Judge winning the 2017 derby was absolutely not the best part of that night -- it was Justin Bour going crazy and hitting 22 home runs and almost eliminating Judge in the first round.
Josh at NY was great but we never got the real numbers from Big Mac at Fenway Just food for thought. it is never the number it is the distance. as far as most of us are concerned.
Josh Hamilton in Yankee stadium hands down the best !!!!

Griff hitting the warehouse is such a big deal, that it will also be a big deal when the next guy does it. It’s like a mythical Olympic feat.
And it's wild because the warehouse is "only" 430 or so from home plate. But add the 25 feet elevation from home plate to eutaw street and the 10 feet of elevation where the warehouse starts and it requires an absolute bomb
@@PhantomofDBYeah it’s such a bizarre feat. I don’t think we’ll ever see it in a real game ever again
@PhantomofDB if I remember right they estimated it was around 470ft

Totally agree with you, I can’t keep up with the homers these days
A Frank Thomas 'Upper Decker' sounds like an absolute nightmare
Sammy's First RD in 02 in Milwaukee was jaw-dropping!
Bad call on not having Ryan Howard winning on a shot to a "Hit it Here" sign in Pitt
The Vlad vs Joc Battle is the best match up I've seen live.
99 Homeruns in the derby from Vladdy will never be broken.
I miss the “back back back” calls
They NEED to go back to the old style home run derbys!

MLB sped up the HR Derby because today’s generation has the attention span that lasts about 20 seconds
@@lamarmartin847 how can they not watch 500ft nukes hit over stadiums for more than 2min?
@@lamarmartin847 I'm not part of that generation I'm an older generation person so I hate it when they change things for the new age.
I Remember Chris Berman Like It Was Yesterday
BACK BACK BACK GONE!! THIS ONE IS TO THE MOON!!
All this video should be is: Griffey hitting the warehouse, Mark McGwire at Fenway, and Josh Hamilton at Yankee Stadium.
Hamilton in '08, JRod last year. My 2 favorite HRD
man i miss Chris Berman. the man is the goat calling the home run derbies
“Back! Back! Back! Back! GONE!” 🔥
Hard disagree. I could have done without the "backbackbackbackbackback" on every single homer.
WOW!!! No J-Rod record-breaking 1st Round in Seattle last year??? Add it to it now. This highlight video is incomplete without it.
the absolute disrespect to the Mariners throughout this whole All-Star break 😤
I miss juiced Baseball, it was so much fun
The bat speed from Josh Hamilton has to be the fastest swings I've ever seen.

This is when baseball was at its finest ⚾️🫶🏼
Go back to the old hrd style please
They will never give us that pleasure again
I'm shocked they didn't include Adley Roschmann's Switch in 2023
The old style was better, we could admire every homer but now once a homer is hit the next one is hit before you know it
Awesome video
I Remember The Home Run Derby Like It Was Yesterday
I was there when griffey hit the warehouse i was 8. The marker is still on the wall lol. And those guys on roids man were off the chain.
I didn't even know you could even hit the ball out of the Brewer's stadium
Even though it's impossible, I wanna see someone hit 50 in a round!!
We need the old style derby with metal bats
Completely misunderstood the assignment. Judge winning the 2017 derby was absolutely not the best part of that night -- it was Justin Bour going crazy and hitting 22 home runs and almost eliminating Judge in the first round.
big mac 1999 the most epic
Good lawd almighty Ken Griffey Jr looked just like his dad a the end
Harper and Schwarbs home run derby ❤❤
Yep, except for the fact that Harper cheated
Here under 30 seconds
The home run derby hasnt been fun since sammy sosa and McGuire
BACK BACK BACK!
Chris Berman had thee worst home run call in the history of baseball
this is your home run derby in mlb
Josh at NY was great but we never got the real numbers from Big Mac at Fenway Just food for thought. it is never the number it is the distance. as far as most of us are concerned.

when home run derby actually meant something
Can't wait to watch Pete Alonso cry again and throw a fit when he loses 😂
Yep. Mets are lucky Grimace through the first pitch.
This is fire😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
HI MLB
The old HR Derby format was better
McGuire, Frank Thomas, Sosa... these guys, and others, really tainted a great time in baseball
Julio's 41 in the first round doesn't make the list?
Should be displaying our flag since, yanno, we gave you the opportunity to play baseball. Without us, you'd be a nobody.
Better than Shohei Ohtani ? 👨🇯🇵⚾
Slammin Sammy Sosa should have went into the Hall of Fame. His number should have been retired by the Cubs too. Shame.
Legalize juice
No Cal Ripken from his mvp year? Hmmmm
when we didnt care that you are on roids :) the greatest time to watch people hit the ball lol
hearing that "BACK BACK BACK BACK ITS OUT OF HERE " so good
Y juan soto el gano
