Nice one, with my favorite ink pairing (though not top tier in the meta)! Do you think it would be possible to make a version of this without the Robin Hoods?
It’s a good combo, Zan won a 1k with this ink pair and similar deck, just less aggro and more midrange. There is a hyper aggro version that Zack Bevins ran in an 8k and came 4th place with zero legendaries.
This is really interesting thank you, i actually play something a lot closer to mid range with hook, crabs and pinocchio over maleficents/chernabogs, but i love your idea of using the hercules 3 - 3 to deal with R/A it's such a good tempo card if you successfully put hook and smee on the board! Can you explain why you are running without queen's castle?
In aggro oriented variants you're looking to play more aggressively, the characters fit better to also deal with opponent's boards and singing Strength.
Awesome video! quick question, would it viable to sub out Chernabogs followers for Capt hook? You give up card draw but at the same time it can protect mal, and offsets the tick damage from smee. Thank you for any insight you may have!
@@QuantumMercury thanks, I tried it out, flow wasn't as good. A follow up question, since rafiki and captain hook is the same in stat and lore as rafikis, why not use captain hook to prevent the ping damage on smee on turn 2?
@@mikepineda8881 well in this build we’re not running either because we’re focused on more aggro threats in the early game. All 3 one drops have great value as aggro threats as Maleficent quests for 2, Robin sets up a shift, and Chernabog replaces itself when it’s threatened. The Hook is good, but you’d play it in a more midrange focused build. You often don’t care about the damage on Smee because you’ll throw him into a threat later or bounce him back to reset the damage.
@@QuantumMercury thanks! I love your content! And your explanation for how you put your decks together is amazing! Edit: what would you say is the hardest match up for this deck ?
@@mikepineda8881 Nothing really, you have Amethyst to deal with Sapphire and Ruby, you have Steel to deal with aggro. This is a well balanced deck, but it also doesn’t do amazing into any match up either. It’s fairly well balanced.
In a local 8 player tournament you know that one is amber steelsong, one is amber amethyst hyper aggro, one is ruby amethyst control and one is amber emerald hyper aggro, for sure... What deck are you bringing?

Everytime I watch the in person reviews tamatoa sings in my head rent free, love the foil grind
Shiny :)
I love these types of videos that you do! I’m new to TCG and the thought process and rationale explanations really help when it comes to game play.
Glad it was helpful!

new to your channel. Extremely informative and well spoken content! I am now subscribed 😄
This is the exact deck I've been picking up staples for. The amethyst and steel types have more types of cards I like to play
Very nice!

Yeah, you can test and see if it works for you.

What deck are you bringing?
Steel Song is strong but Ruby Sapphire counters it. Still, Steel Song is a strong option.
can i run this deck with two one drop malificent?
Yes, but you won’t really have consistency to pressure lore early.
