- Everybody seems to love packing cubes these days so I thought it was about time I jump on the bandwagon and try some out for myself. I went to a couple of my favorite stores to find a set and then came up with a couple travel scenarios to test them out. Check out this video for some minimal packing inspiration and tips on how to travel lighter with just a personal item bag.

Your bag collection makes my heart pitter patter (a video on all your bags would be fun!)
I’m not a packing cube fan. Since I use a small roller bag, I prefer to file fold so I can see everything at a glance. But I can see why these would be great for your minimalist style. Nice to open up your bag to grab a charger and not have your socks fall out 😂
Great idea! I’ll add that video in the mix for sure. As for packing cubes, I kind of felt the same way prior to trying these ones out for the first time. I think for a majority of my travel I won’t use really them but I can see how they could come in handy for organizing a large bag like the orange Magenta brand tote I used in the video. Haha the socks falling out has definitely happened to me in the past.
Please do a video on packing for a formal trip. Like a wedding or an occasion that requires a suit. What bag do you use and what do you pack? Thanks.
Good idea! I’ll add it to the list!
I come for the music, but, love the content. Would be interesting to see if you could pack for a week in the Owl.
Oooh I like a challenge. Will put that on the video list!
I love packing cubes and use them a lot! Although not always, since sometimes I need to fit my clothes around something oddly shaped inside my suitcase. Before they came along I used bags and pouches, anyway, since I like to have my items organized. Especially underwear - I'll never forget being sat at the airplane and watching, with something akin to horror, as ground staff dropped a suitcase and its contents came spilling out. All those panties and bras flying around in the wind... No, thanks!!😂 I don't have compression cubes though, maybe one day... for bulky winter items I often use vacuum bags. They're great! But not as durable or as convenient.
Haha I can only imagine how the owner of that bag felt.
@@outenthelights I'm not sure she saw in the moment, I happened to be in the right spot and on the right side of the place. But imagine opening your suitcase and wondering why someone's stolen your underwear... 🤣
I just got into packing cubes. I went and got some from Walmart. They’re not compressions, but it already gave me some extra room.
Nice! Yeah, I think they can help in some packing scenarios for sure!
Great job! You are so neat!!!
Great video! A little mad at myself for never thinking of the Container Store for packing cubes! Can’t wait to check out what they have asap.
Container store is super underrated!
Nice video and music. I already have two sets of packing cubes, and inexpensive one from Amazon and avery nice set that my daughter has given us for Christmas. The set from my daughter, I love because it is two-sided, one side for clean clothes the other side for dirty clothes. Works fabulous if you’re going in multiple places. With having two sets already I really don’t want to buy a third for compression cubes. So a “MacGyver” TIP is to put your standard packing cubes in a 1 quart or a 2 quart baggie depending on the size. Make sure you get good quality baggies. Then put the compression cube in the baggie and sit on it, this will take the extra air out of the compression cube and bag and then zip it up tightly, folding over the excess part of the baggie. This way you at least get some of the effect of a compression cube if you don’t want to go out and buy compression cubes. 🧳
Thanks for watching! Great advice!
High quality stuff, loved it!
Thanks so much for watching!
This made me laugh; you are so minimalist there is no challenge getting your stuff in a packing cube… I see people stuffing those things with „extra“ and wondering why the zips break 🤣👍
Que buen video👍, me enseñarías a hacer un armario capsula 👌.
Thanks so much for watching!
In the Chicago area, TJMaxx, Marshall’s, Sierra and HomeGoods have great selections of travel accessories, including packing cubes and compression bags at the lowest prices I’ve seen. I see Eagle Creek at the stores regularly.
Good looking out!
Nice... Im switching from Normal packing cubes to compression cubes..
Good choice! I’m definitely sold on them!
For a long weekend trip, you don't pack sleeping clothes?
Nah just the track pants will do! It’s all t shirts, you just wear them to bed too.
