46:50 main climb is over. A welcome descent is ahead and a rider has managed to catch up to me - so we can work together. Currently in 5th place. 4th place is over 560m ahead and the top 3 vary from 3 km to 1.4km ahead
57:21 first of 3 small hills. 2.6 Km to go. first hill is the largest but still only covers about 20m up. There is a descent between the two smaller hills ahead so there is no use burning out on this hill
53:30 and 4th place is only 45m ahead. Slowly catching up 53:59 had enough of waiting to catch up with 4th so I launch an attack and indicate to my group to follow my lead. 30 seconds later and we have become a group of 4 I can relax a bit now as there is still 4.5 Km to go
47:00 there are 3 of us working together on the descent. i am paying attention to the braking and starting my outbound sprint about a second before the braking ends
49:00 descent is over. approx 8km of flat with a few tiny hills near the end. drop back slightly to allow the other two to catch up. pointless working alone. still varying 5th, 6th and 7th place
58:00 time to launch another attack. 30 secs later and i am 40 to 100m ahead of the rest of my group. By 58:50 I can relax the pace again as I am about to hit the next small hill then a descent and there is now only 1 rider who could pose a risk
Bal Ghaylan, Oman route was ridden as a post race recovery to complete the 4 route high desert challenge on Rouvy. Muqal was jut raced tonight whilst both Jebel Akhdar and Dar al Bayda were both raced within the past few days
