denyse plummer foray into the world of soca/calypso after years as a local pop singer in1987,with len boogsie sharpe penned feelin nice/pan progress,I remember seeing her on tv receiving a missel shower while performing this number at Skinner park in the national semifinals.years later she recalled,crying off stage especially when a sucked orange with dirt,hit her in the mouth.she still remembers the dirt going down her throat.they called it the acid test in those days.some say it was race,what she doing in black people ting,like a trooper she keep going back year after year.eventually winning over the crowd,winning multiple titles including calypso monarch in 2001.

This was her second year singing calypso. The incident in Skinner Park occured in 1986 when she sang Pan Rising.
