Spent years at school being confused by teachers explaining this with great complexity and just took 10 minutes out of my day and got 19/20 in the quiz. Thankyou very much.
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you! I was hoping you would give a test at the end and you did, and you also explained Augmented and Diminished chords very well. I'm going to refer this video to my fellow classmates as a study tool as I have used it.
I'm laughing at how happy I am for having learned something so fast. 100% on your test. You are quite a teacher! Someone ran me through "augmented" and "diminished" years ago but it didn't stick. I think your test at the end plugged it into my brain for good - Thankyou!!
Wow! Thank you so much! Im in ET 2 and been struggling so much with telling Aug. and dimi. apart. Just watched your vid and did the exercise and actually got 14 right. Your approach is absolutely helpful! I've signed up and plan on continuing to consult your vids in the future. You are great! Thanks again!
This video was really helpful, especially the test at the end (since no other video provides a way to test yourself). The first time I did it I only got 9/10 though. So I'm going to give it a bit, come back rewatch the video and hopefully I can do better ^_^
You're not playing the chords in the first inversion, they're all in root position. I guess you probably just mixed the terms up :) An annotation with a correction at 2:15 would help if you don't want to confuse the beginners
***** Thanks mate, I'm so terrible at mixing up these terms. It always confused me when I was younger. I have a Masters degree now and I still make the same dumb mistake weekly...
Thanks for this video. For my ear training class in college we use some software called Practica Musica. When I do the lesson on chords I always get Diminished and Augmented mixed up. For some reason when I took your test though I got 18/20. Do you have a video dedicated to just telling the difference between Diminished and Augmented? I think that a lot of people has the same issues.

thank you so much for this video!
I always mess up minor and diminished but i think i'm getting it now :)
Great video, how ever a 1st inversion would have the 3rd as the bass/bottom note, whereas in 'root position' is where the tonic is in the bass part
