Hi James. I’ve only just discovered you but really like your videos and your down to earth approach. I’m 48 years old and had the classic dad bod with the big beer gut. Well I reached rock bottom and decided to make some change. I’ve now lost 27kg in the last 5 months with good old fashioned drive, nutrition and exercise, and now I love looking great and feeling great, my goal has shifted and I’ve entered the journey to getting jacked. Will definitely be watching more of your videos. Keep up the great work. Kasey from Australia 💪
hey James, just wanted to let you know i appreciate a lot your content. no bs and straight to the point. don´t listen to the negative comments, people just hate what they can´t conquer. have a good one brother👊
Good video. I got into great shape a number of times over the years but seldom followed a plan religiously, which definitely impeded my progress. Now trying to get back into lifting. BTW, you look like a more handsome version of Johnny Flynn (and far more jacked).
Yeah my personal preference is to have carbs for dinner over any other time of the day. Helps with focus throughout the day and sleep well at night. Carbs cycling is good, I do it but more on a unplanned basis.
Hi James! Liking the videos and thank you for the information in this video. Can i ask with what software you exactly do these kind of videos? So you have the presentation and your picture there as well. Do you have webcam also or phone/another camera? Thanks
I have done both. Carnivore is a useful tool for certain situations but long term I don't think it's a good idea to completely overly restrict carbs - although it depends where you live. My diet is carnivore inspired with easily digestible carbs added back in.
I would disagree. Adding muscle requires a lot of energy (calorically, costs more, more time in gym, more time eating) and is much more difficult than losing body fat. Most of the before and after pics are of guys who had the structure but just lost the fat. Maybe I’m just viewing it through my own lens though.
@@dustinbrownyt for me personally, losing fat has been difficult historically. what i realized is that people that tend to be chubby are a) relatively sedentary and b) metabolically unhealthy. This is why it’s so hard for them to lose weight. Often they’re eating fewer calories than naturally lean people yet still can’t lose the weight. On the other hand, naturally lean people’s metabolism is so efficient that it takes a gargantuan amount of calories to build muscle. Of course this varies person to person, as some people are skinny fat, metabolically unwell, low testosterone etc. Everyone has their own challenges in the end, but they can be overcome
Yes, and while resistance training, one will burn calories, add muscle, which in turn burns more calories. Knowing this creates a more resilient mindset when not seeing the immediate improvements.
@@james.sweetland why would your face grow if you aren't working out your face muscles? Only hormone enhancement is going to cause the face to gro in such a way. Also age, but doubt it changes that much in 7 years...
@@james.sweetland when you give advices from just bodybuilding standpoint, thats completely fine. but when you inject yourself and any word out of your mouth including "naturally" is bs and makes us unable to believe sorry.
TH-cam transcript: "I made this little pie chart here just to put into perspective how much difference supplements *make* I'm talking about over the count of supplements not Peds. But even if we put Peds on this graph it might surprise you that I would maybe put Peds at 30% or something like that uh because you still got to do the work." Have a good day lads 👊
@james.sweetland studies tend to show that AAS users gain twice the amount of muscle than that of natural lifters, e.g. an intermediate natural lifter could hope to gain 5kg per year, whereas an intermediate lifter using PEDs might gain 9-11kg of muscle per year. Which is 100% increase. Even anecdotally, we've all seen the wild improvements users can have compared to themselves prior to use. I certainly agree that users still have to put the work in just as hard as, if not harder (because the PEDs allow them to) than natural lifters, but claiming a 30% boost through use is wildly misleading and feeds into what is wrong with the fitness industry and the disinformation that is out there misleading young men.
@@alexspicer8569 I agree with your point and maybe it is not 30%, definitely in some cases it's a lot more. But also I know friends who took PEDs and made almost no gains what so ever. So someone who is dialed in with everything, maybe they would see a 100% improvement if not more. Someone who isn't sees a 10% improvement. Therefore the average gains for the average person on average would be somewhere in the middle. Don't think you need to get hung up on the 30% number buddy. Maybe slightly off but no big deal and yes there is a lot of disinformation in the fitness industry and I don't think this video is contributing to that. If you do then cool, I can't please everyone, thanks for stopping either way 👊
Divorce is stressful. I'm trying to convert stress energy into work energy, which definitely includes working out.

I'd be really curios to know your thoughts on the Keto/carnivore diet? I've seen some pretty jacked individuals and they don't eat any carbs?

@@james.sweetland So you're doing more of what Dr Paul Saladino is doing then? meat heavy but also fruits and honey.
@@extraspecialk3244 rarely honey. Only some fruits. There’s some differences but overall agree with his approach for sure.
Creatine seems to bloat me ,can I ditch it ?
Why don't you just take a lot less of it
Whats a good amount of weight to gain per month? Currently im doing a kilo per month. Done 2 kilos per month in the past and just ended up fat
1kg per month max as a guide. But if you take progress photos you can see exactly for yourself because everyone is different.

Going from skinny to buff is easier than going fluffy to shredded.
if you feel that you’re naturally chubby but build muscle easily, best thing you can do is pick up running as a hobby.
A shredded physique requires far more discipline than simply being buff.

Judging by the change in shape of your face, i'd say you got on steroids to get jacked?
Impossible to gain 20kg without changing the shape of your face - with or without gear

Gain some muscle then report back. You’ll see
If you're eating more to feed the muscle growth, of course your face will fill out too, especially over a 7 year period.
