  • With a couple of warm and sunny days we decide to head back down to the river knowing the fish will be in shallower than they have been. as soon as we arrive we can tell it is going to be a great night of bowfishing!

    Now to dispose of all the fish. I have a few mink and coon trappers that get about 800lbs of chunk fish per year. The rest i run through the old troy built woodchipper and goes in the garden and feeds all my fruit trees. But i run out of places to hide the bodies fast when you get a few days of good shoots im

    Very good video. Looks like a lot of fun. What are you powering your lights with?

    • @BWFilms
      @BWFilms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was with a 2200 watt generator, I now switched to a 12v system!

    • @donduck6195
      @donduck6195 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BWFilms I'm doing a 12-volt system as well. Are you satisfied with it so far? I'm probably only going to be powering (6) 30w lights in the 2700k-3000k range. By my math, a 150-amp battery with 80% efficiency should give me about 720watts before I get the battery to 50% discharged. (6) lights x 30w = 180w/hour consumption. Long story short, I'm hoping to get about 4 hours of continuous run time out of the six lights with a single 150-amp battery.

    • @BWFilms
      @BWFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donduck6195 yes I am satisfied with mine but sometimes I wish they would last a little longer on them long nights. 4 hours for you sounds about right!

    Love the video!!!!! I was wondering if you could explain how you connected the generator to the battery charger then the charger to the battery? I am having problems with this step on my boat. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @BWFilms
      @BWFilms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just had an onboard charger on my boat that was separate from the lights! So one extension cord went to the lights and one went to the on board charger Wich was hooked to the batteries for the boat and trolling motor.

      Mississippi River, from the accent I'd say they're up north; Minnesota more than likely.
      Just find a marshy, shallow backwater off of the Mississippi, Ohio, Illinois, Arkansas, Missouri, rivers. Pretty sure these nasty things are in all of the major rivers in the midwest.
      Great time to find them in little holes like this is after the river rises a decent amount, wait for it to drop and create these little backwater "lakes". Just use a flat-bottom boat that can float in water as shallow as 12in as these little "lakes" will generally be no more than a few feet deep at the deepest in my experience.

    What do you guys do with all of the fish that you shoot? I'm just getting into bow fishing this year. I've got three boys (9, 11, 13) and a 1542 flatbottom with a mud motor. I'm currently building a deck for it and ordering lights. Everything seems like it will be just fine, except I have no idea what to do with all these damn fish. Some of them I will use as frozen, ready to go catfish bait.
