    Nothing to talk about here. I don't have much. So any one giving away garden stuff such as fruit trees, compost, wood chips, etc, please let me know. I'm in 9b central Florida. I don't have a vehicle. Every spare penny I have goes to growing food of some kind.

    Love this thank you! I gave my neighbor a few starter vegetable plants and she gave me some eggs! It felt so good. I’ve also shared flower seeds with a neighbor. I started rooting cuttings and I’m sure I’ll share those with neighbors as well, to build relationships and interest in planting. When I share plants, I see my neighbors take care of their gardens and get digging ❤️ I want to start a free seed exchange and plant exchange all over the world. A library and education of plants and gardening, just like you and your family. I am all about encouragement and community ❤️

      Someone we bought goats from has too many eggs, so when they come into town they drop off dozens of eggs with us. We give half to our neighbor. The neighbor has brought us Sunday night dinner, veggies from their garden and some steak from their last cow butchered.

    What you said about spending money I have seen personally many times. Someone gets a job and when the get their first paycheck, they buy a new vehicle. Six months later they get laid off and sometimes have that vehicle repossessed. I get criticized for driving older vehicles, but it’s payed for and no one will take it from me. Keep up the great work you do.

I had to buy a vehicle once I moved upstate from the concrete jungle NYC but I knew if I want to get ahead...I better live very frugally, I checked on craigslist and bought me a small SUV for UNDER 4K , a nice little rugged jeep. A 20 year old car....it needs a little TLC other than that, it's great!
    TOP 5 reasons..1) no payments/no stress 2) NO TRACKING - you know who
    3) easy to repair 4) NO fancy electronic features draining my battery or burning out electronic board that even the mechanics can't diagnose when cars just shut off. They are all crap now!

      Husband is a paramedic which in Ontario is a good job (but falling behind of inflation at the moment) We were most blessed to be one of the few ambulance services to Buck the quaksine orders and he didn’t get fired so far… (pray for us!) He makes around 96k CDN but is taxed around a third of that!!!! 😮 other streams include rental incomes. When he was a carpenter we bought fixer uppers and now rent them out. Some times we even have rented space out in our own primary residence. I was a paramedic too and now that I’m retired I’m trying to make our garden at least sustain us. Fruit trees are producing, garden is producing. Friends have animal products we can’t produce being townies with bylaw officers behind every tree! We have a home church we go to …. Over all we’ve been able to live relatively free of shukdowns and nandates and massck requirements. We are learning to be more agile and learning to duck dodge and dive to steer clear of commies 😅 🇨🇦HONK

    Kinkless hose:
    Purchase:
    * bundle of 3/4" pvc pipe.
    * can of 'fusion' spray paint
    * 1 bag (10) 3/4" SS-MIP fittings + extras
    * 1 bag (10) 3/4" SS-FIP fittings + extras
    * Any number of 3/4" tees. FIP if you can get them.
    * 1 can pvc primer and glue.
    * set of quick connect hose fittings, optional.
    For a piece of pipe prime and glue one FIP and one MIP on each end. Repeat as often as you need. Paint the finished product to prevent UV damage. With the tees add a FIP fitting on one end, a MIP fitting on the other. On the third free end add a MIP fitting. I add emt straps across the bottom of the tee and screw it to a small board as a foot.
    What can you do? You can connect the pipe nearly as fast as you can drag and unkink the hose. Need a discharge? Add a tee fitting in line and screw in your premade sprinkler head. Or a length of hose to direct the steam. At the end of the line just add a 3/4" FIP cap. Sky is the limit. Disassembly is just as fast. I have lengths of this setup and various premade fittings. The flexibility permits me to adjust water needs quickly as the nature of an area changes from season to season. Has saved me money in the long run -- some lengths are nearing 8yrs old.

They asked me recently if I’m spending more on groceries nowadays. My husband and I looked at each other and said no. I told them my garden and chickens offset the costs and I just wait for the sale then stock up. I’ve been stocking up big time since the big C hit and basically make everything from scratch, rarely eat out, etc. Those outside of it don’t understand it’s a lifestyle and mindset, and not just one action.

    I love the idea of trade!! My Dad grew up in the depression and tells me so many stories of how it use to be....I have always believed in giving your gifts away.... bartering, trading, whatever gift/skill God has blessed you with can help others & vice versa! We can go back to that way if people change their hearts! I look forward to that day. (I try to do this myself!) My husband & I love your channel!! Blessings & all the Best !Lorie!

    I used to irritate the dickens out of my boss. He constantly reminded me that I was throwing away free money (401k company match) by not participating in the “retirement plan”. He never understood when I replied that “livestock/fruit trees had a much better/longer track record than the stock market”!

    Money is important, but you are right, it all depends on how you use/manage it. My life has taught me some lessons from the school of hard knocks. When I married my wife 32 years ago, she came with 4 fully charged up credit cards. I cut them up, paid them off, and never got another one. The Lord guided my path on that because we both ended up disabled. With no huge debt we have survived. I do like debit cards, all the benefits of easy payment, and no monthly bill.

    My parents were Depression kids, and both of them worked their way through their education to their careers. They started without, literally, a pot to p… in or a window to throw it out. Once we kids were in school, Mom went back to her work, and both parents agreed to live on one income and save the other. They made a point of living WITHIN the lesser income. By the time they retired, Dad had gone from Hill Billy to Mountain William. 😉 Humphrey Bogart made a point of living within his means and keeping a FU fund so he could afford to turn down scripts he didn’t like and outwait the Powers That Be in his industry. I have personally seen people who made fortunes, blew them, and died penniless because they never learned how to handle money (or other resources), and there was no way to help them because they never could learn. Tough love understands and acts on the difference between a hand up, a hand out, and enabling.

    Thanks to you, I am about 6 months away from developing a second income stream. Everything I’ve been doing are seeds to grow income. It has been a struggle every month financially, but I can see the progress as the gardens and animals grow. Nearly everything I have comes from scrounging materials others discard. I work hard to get food scraps and have two good sources. Feed costs are my primary focus for reduction/elimination. Now that my gardens are getting ready to produce, I’m excited to store some, sell some and grow more. The fruit trees will produce in a couple years, berries by next year, and I’m just getting started. I do almost everything by hand myself. I found a neighbor with a tractor to move the 80 cu yds of wood chips. I found a source for free sawdust any time I want it. I have boatloads of cardboard, and make compost every time I move the chickens. I’m finding a rhythm to moving the pigs and chickens, building a tool shed (from scrap lumber, pallets, roof tin) for storage, and will attach rabbit hutches to the back side of it. On another side I’m setting up for processing animals. I found pvc stair handrails that I’ll make rain gutters from for rainwater collection. My only cost was for gas in the truck to go pick-up everything. I bought a used trailer for $500 and a used lawn tractor for $250 to haul things around or pickup sawdust, bricks (for a pizza oven like Justro’s), roof tin, scrap lumber, etc. All glory to the Father for directing me to find you! My pastures continue to improve month by month as the pigs and chickens do their thing. Once the pigs farrow, I’m planning to get a couple sheep. A year from now I plan to have this place running well almost like yours. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. God bless you and yours!
