2021 Craft Room Declutter - Clean Out Those Drawers!

- In this video I am sharing my latest craft room declutter including cleaning out my desk and craft organization drawers. I will declutter those drawers and get my craft room much more organized with Organize More! When my desk drawers get to cluttered, I can't find what I need, so it was definitely time to declutter them and make my craft room much more organized for the new year!

It does feel so good to have a organized room
It never ceases to amaze me how much better I feel when this space is pretty and organized!
I reorganise every couple of months. I do various different crafts so depending on which one I'm concentrating on, I reorganise to make my craft room work better for that particular craft, plus I can declutter at the same time to get rid of things I haven't reached for or used in a while.
This is exactly how I usually do it too! Sometimes it starts because I'm looking for something or because I realize I havent done a technique in a while etc. I start pulling things out and then I realize the way they had been stored is not working for me at that time and so a re-org begins lol!

I like organizing periodically so I can see what I haven’t been using. This gives me a chance to try out things that have gotten buried under the clutter in my space.
Same! Whenever my family walks by and I have a huge mountain of STUFF out I simply tell them, "in the process of re-org" lol!

YESSSSSS! I feel the same way! It usually sparks some creative energy for me too!
I just wanted to share how I keep cords neat & tangle free, by turning washing up gloves into rubber bands. Gloves that would be thrown away when they get a hole in them are cut across the glove an inch down from the wrist edge. This gives me an inch wide ring of glove rubber to use like a rubber band around a cord, but it is chunky enough to easily grab to undo. You can cut across the glove again to give you more “rubber bands”, until you reach the thumb area. You can cut more or less than an inch wide, depending on your preference. Once you get to the thumb & fingers, you can cut the tip off of the thumb or fingers and discard, then cut down a half inch or more or less across the thumb or fingers to give you smaller “rubber bands” for thin cords, such as earphones. Bonuses include recycling, gloves come in many fashion colours, the only skill needed is the ability to use scissors & if you have gloves already, there is no cost.

LOL. YES! My husband grew up an hour outside of Pittsburgh and so of course the whole house are Steelers fans. That game was a huge bummer after such a great season. :(

LOL! I've had several comments saying that it didnt look that messy. I am not a neat freak at all. In fact right now I have an entire project all over the floor :| but I do find I work better when everything around me is aesthetically pleasing and I dont have to fight through a mess to create.

YES! I am hoping to do a pencil video soon! My daughter really wanted to guest for that video (she is a brilliant colorist) , but we got lazy over break and now she is back in the thick of it with school. I mean, I enjoyed the video, but I really had to laugh at you saying your were embarrassed by your drawers. Those drawers looked fine to me. Right now my whole house is a disaster zone, which is why I am watching organizing videos. With the passing of a family member we have inherited a lot of things and needless to say, I am overwhelmed. I guess we should all be so lucky to have so many nice things.
Embarrassment for messy drawers has been eclipsed by the disaster that is my house now as well. My husband is painting our kitchen cabinets and everything is EVERYWHERE. I really only talk about crafty organization because the rest of my house is a disaster. This is my small space that I try and make a place I can be productive. You're right I should definitely just be grateful that we have all those kitchen things to have out and about now and be thankful that I am not the one painting the kitchen. LOL.

Im on a low income so I try and upcycle, repurpose and find alternative crafty storage solutions & ideas as much as I can, I try & tie them together with the theme of the room, by using paint, textiles & paper/card crafting...
I will be sharing my ideas, my storage solutions and explain what everything started out as on my craft room tour...
I used a tall CD rack to make a alcohol marker storage shelf, I cut it in half sanded it & painted it, I then divided the cubby holes diagonally and then screwed them to the wall, its perfect and has lots of extra space...

Lookin’ good! A tip on the “cord” drawer....I like to save the little wire wraps that come with some products....I re-use them to wrap around cords to keep them wound up....helps a lot when trying to close the drawer! TYFS ❤️🦋💜

Those hair clips work as well. The ones that you can use to twist your hair up..I use the tiny ones to hold coiled up earbuds.

I started Friday and still going strong to clean out my craft room - i think i got stagnant making cards. So I’m cleaning, getting rid , and not making cards till i get it cleaned up/out .
Honestly a good reorganization always gets my creative juices flowing!

LOL, a couple of others have said that as well. Just remember, you are only seeing a few key areas. My floor often looks like a hurricane came through. lol!
I’ve been doing my room and drawers for the last two weeks(which feels like forever). How did you get your drawers out? When we built my Alex drawers they got screwed on... ). I would Love to have the luxury of having drawers pull all the way ou, or even of the chest?
I don’t believe she removed the entire Alex drawers. She purchased different “divided drawer inserts” from Organize More to place inside the Alex drawers.
Drawers are such great storage but also so easy to get disorganized! My drawers are still attached to the unit. I was removing and inserting the Organize More Caddies in and out of the drawers.
