I love when You push the old cars almost to redline! The sounds are sooo good! Many people drive their classics (which are 100% restored) not exceeding 2k rpm, or so... Where is the fun I ask? If the engine is better than new, and the temperature is operational, let it breathe, give it some beans! ;) Thank You for the quality content!
these cars need it, too. The origin of the "italian tuneup" is that guys would baby their high-strung Italian sports cars until the plugs fouled, gunk built up on the valves, etc. Then they'd take it to a shop, and it wouldn't really need any repairs, just to be wound out to redline and get good and hot to clear everything out. One hoon across town and back by a mechanic willing to rip it, and magically the car would run great.
I could fall asleep while listening to the sound it makes between 2000 and 3000 rpm. It's so relaxing, and it sounds so good. As always, outstanding quality from your videos. Thanks for the work Mr.Tedward.
This car is from the year that I was born. Just tight and fully sorted. This car said that you had wealth and class. A beautiful Grand Tourer that can do 100 mph+ all day.
I remember chasing one of these on a backroad near Waterville Valley in NH when I had a 240Z. I was with him until the split second he decided to be rid of me and stepped on the throttle. If you're going to lose, make it worth it...
I love to see the evolution of the Ferrari designs over the years. This is a real lynch pin between the classic models of a 60s and early 70s and that of the 80s.
As a matter of fact, one doesn’t hear an awful lot about these stunning 365 GTC / 4 and one doesn’t come across them that much either. Great of you to have been able to get hold of one for this molto simpatico driving impressions ! This model is obviously a grand tourer, as the gearbox suggests with its fairly long ratios. And the 4.4 litre Colombo V12 with its army of Weber carburetors is a piece of sculpture in itself. As for the sound and the way it changes in harmony with the RPMs, just like your blast in the Dino V6, one just prays for it never to end. I was very lucky to be able to go for a spin in this car’s wilder brother, the 365 GTB Daytona, so I know exactly how you feel. Thanks for sharing this ride with us. But whatever you do, don’t turn your back on 911ses 😅👌
23 degrees or not, I'd have those windows down and find every tunnel in a 30 miles radius! The subtle whine of the transmission, the burbles on riding a down shift, we've removed the emotional pieces of cars and the tactile feel of driving and I think we've done ourselves a huge disservice. You can tell by your actual exuberance (the only word that fits!) driving this that there's reminders of what could be better, not what's lost.
The painted front bumper is a big improvement. I think the original black rubber bumper was one of the things that made it look dated and not as sleek as the Daytona. Great video!
Agree, underrated car. So beautiful in that colour. The great Aussie journalist Mel Nicols loved these cars back in the day (see his collection of article, And the Revs Kept Rising).
I think one of the reasons this one looks so good (apart from the color) is because it doesn’t have the black nose around the front grille like all the others.
Grew up in Weymouth riding passenger around those same on and off ramps (95 and 3A) in my dad’s MKII Golf GTi. Always hanging on for dear life during the winter with the sand/salt 😂
This, but in its bigger brother, the 365 gt4 2+2, sits at the top of my shelf near the door. Ofcourse its a 1:18 scale model, but I find it to be the most beautiful thing in the world. Dont ask me why, but I only discovered these cars 2 years ago and since then, it overtook all of the dream cars in my garage. ❤
Love the dash layout, and those wheels are cool. They kind of remind me of the ComStar wheels Honda put on some of their motorcycles back in the 70s and 80s. I hope the heater worked well!
As a car enthusiast, I'm ashamed to say that I've never heard of this model, but my goodness is she gorgeous!!! And ofc, anything with the Colombo V12 is going to sound like a symphony! ❤
I love watching you drive cars around in Waltham. I was born there and worked on Bear Hill Road and First Ave, Wyman Street, Trapelo Rd, etc. Please hook me up with the guy who owns the Karmann Ghia you drove BTW. I love those cars and owned one many years ago. 😉
@@TedwardDrivesit’s close man, both sound incredible but this has a deep, primal, guttural, rumble to it, that idle alone is enough to sell it for me aha
It was like Ferrari designed that center console to store an iPhone in 72. Does it wirelessly charge it? 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though nothing like the sound of a Columbo with 6 Weber carbs!
TED, who cares how much of a financial strain it would be, you owe it to yourself to buy this car! You’ll be remembering the sounds of the engine and exhaust when you’re a really old man on your deathbed.
What a lovely car, great video, thanks. If you like V12's from the 70's check out "Harry's Garage" Jaguar XJC, now with uprated induction and exhaust but otherwise standard engine and crucially a 5 speed manual. He's also got an uprated Espada amoungst others! :)

Fantastic engine and I'm sure the overall experience is amazing. The only problem is that the 275 GTB/4 exists, and that alone is a reason for me to keep walking. Lovely vehicle.. I still think its a downgrade from peak mid 60's Ferrari.
Always a good day when tedward uploads a vintage ferrari

Barely ever approached 6k on an 8k rev counter.
i tottaly agree, some from the fiat spider club cant get it why i go full thotle. but thats what i build my engine for!!!

this channel is like therapy to me
What a machine. Could listen to that engine all day long. Beautiful symphony from under the hood. Had to put the Beats on for this.
Even the sound of the door closing, fantastic!

That blue is an excellent colour for this model.
Tedward and Savagegeese are the only channels an enthusiast needs

What a stunning machine!

Eventually we learned we don't want the drag of pop up headlights...

Whoa I can see the 308, 550, Dino, all kinds of design heritage from this body style. Super modern interior too! Very cool!
Oh my god with headphones and the sound turned up during those pulls

Oh yeah.. THE OLD IS GOLD. 😌.. Thank you Ted for this symphony 🥰🎼..
I love seeing the tach bounce on idle and in between shifts 😂, really 70s and sooo Ferrari
One of the best driving vintage Ferraris , very rare with only 500 examples built. One of these in up to spec mechanical shape is incomparable.
The painted front bumper is a big improvement. I think the original black rubber bumper was one of the things that made it look dated and not as sleek as the Daytona. Great video!
Old carbed Columbo V12= eargasm.
That’s a gorgeous Ferrari in an awesome shade of blue. Sounds stellar too.
My favourite Ferrari - I regret not buying one before the classic market went stupid
Agree, underrated car. So beautiful in that colour. The great Aussie journalist Mel Nicols loved these cars back in the day (see his collection of article, And the Revs Kept Rising).
Wow! One of my favorite early-70's cars. Had a strange engine, had almost pseudo reverse-flow heads, with the intake manifold between the camshafts.
No salt on the road and the sun shining is a good day for a drive.
Always one of my favorite Ferrari!
Very well tuned Ferrari and glorious sound!
What a great Car, i like this V12 with the 6 Webers... Thank you for showing
I think one of the reasons this one looks so good (apart from the color) is because it doesn’t have the black nose around the front grille like all the others.
What a stunning classic Ferrari! 💕🏁
Its engine sound is as emotional and expressive as a Stradivarius.🎻🎼🎶

What a way to cross a continent. Lovely.
I don’t know why but I absolutely love seeing the rpm dial wiggle on the shifts

i love these videos you driving these older cars
Nothing beats the massive greenhouse of old cars. Everything feels like cocoon these days.
Absolutely beautiful car.
I was just watching driving 4 answers new video about v12 engines, and this one comes out with a V12!
Speaking of Bond Group, if James Bond had ever driven an early 70s Ferrari from Q-Branch, it would be this one, and it would outperform the Astons.
Love the cockpit too, sweet layout

Beautiful car…awesome sound….great vid….always look forward to the drive….😊.
it would be nice to see you do a video of your buddy's Daytona (McBurnie?)!
That looks exactly like one i was part of restoring for Cavallino back in 2010 in Pompano FL
My absolute dream Ferrari
Now thats a proper V12 woohoo 💪❤

It’s for sale at bond group!
@@TedwardDrives The Ghia? I couldn't afford it, I'm sure. 😕
I want our life. This is one of my all time favourites ❤
Grazie Gioacchino Colombo 🙏🏼
The painted rubber front bumper makes all the difference. It’s normally black and looks like it was punched in the eye - this is far better.
Fk yes. I love this car, I've always loved the design of this. It looks very low key compared to the other Ferraris of the time.
I was freaking out just as soon as that dump truck appeared
I like this more than the Daytona
Same
Tedward that “Bond Group” didn’t have as much pep as normal. You doin okay?
It was cold 😭 🥶
We do like papa's headlight😂
I want to see more therapy drives, very interesting hearing your takes and opinions... Tedward podcast maybe?
Thanks. I have a podcast. It's called Respect The Drive. Can be found on Spotify, Apple and TH-cam Music among other places
You’re lucky they haven’t put salt down in MA. My Ferrari driving is probably shut down until Spring in Upstate NY!
Thank you for the great vid. The engine is wonderful . I wish I could say the same for the body and interior styling - not a fan.
I wonder was the lack of the gated shifter intended to give this car a more "luxurious" feel.
Likely. the Daytona's were gated but this 365 and the previous SOHC 365 that I drove from 1969 both had a traditional boot around the shifter
Colombo, NUFF SAID...
I love the v12 chevy monza
25 degrees? That's cold it's a little HOT here... I've been a sub with Tom since he had 1400 subs how many now 580K ?
Thank you! It's wild to have even found the channel back then
i think i have a new favourite sounding ferrari
compare it against the 1969 365 I drove with the single overhead cam and let me know what you think.
@@TedwardDrivesit’s close man, both sound incredible but this has a deep, primal, guttural, rumble to it, that idle alone is enough to sell it for me aha
I wonder if it’s over steer heavy when pushed
I have not wanted a classic car as badly as this one. 😪
I don’t know why the bouncing rev dial is cool but I think it is!

Dude how can pictures of this not do it for you. I mean it is a Ferrari with popup headlights. Like, what else can a car person want in life?
A frw years ago you could buy These for the price of a Jag E type
Is that speedo a little optimistic?
My boss really love Ferrari ❤🎉
3:23 “cold air intake”
I’m admittedly a bit weird, but if I were rich and wanted a small Ferrari collection, I’d have one of these, a 365 GT4 2+2, a 512 BB and a 308 GT4.

What did Enzo have against tilt wheel?
CAN WE GET SOME CLASSIC LUXURY PLEASE? 🥺
Is this not fitting the definition?

for sale?
Yes at Bond Group. It’ll be on bring a trailer soon
heard the roma was based on this car
CARB sadly just banned all Gas and vintage cars in california
I don’t think that’s true. It bans sale of new gas cars in like 2035. Please cite source that says vintage cars are banned

Day 75 of asking Tedward to drive the S60R
One of those cars that has little business in the US. Condemned to sooty plugs and frustration.
Rather drive a slow car fast.
yuhhhh
Not particularly fan of the design of this Ferrari, don't know, for me it kinda looks like a 70's Japanese coupe in some angles.
Rebody that and convert it to a Daytona Spyder!!
No!
First !!
