    I have a 2023 Scout Rogue and you can see that the Octane was the foundation for the Scout model for sure. I know there are differences but the DNA is there and the Rogue brought back the look that I like!

      I have the 17 Octane and I have a 23 Scout. Yep. These are all from the same family.

    Like most Octane owners...I haven't lost a race yet either. Dynas, Break outs, Deuces, old Sportsters...most with thousands of $$ of upgrades and they still get beat by my $6500 used stock Octane. Could've been riders not the bikes!! I'd like to race the new Sportster S also but all the HD people I know can't stand them. It's like the hatred towards the Vrod back in the day.

    Got mine and love it, it's a damn beast! Always wondered what it would continue to be if they were still in production, it's a shame.

    I wanted a 6th gear bike and was heavily considering an Octane around 2017 but then when I heard Victory was ending I got scared about potential parts and warranty issues. Ended up just hanging onto my Night Rod until I eventually traded it in on a Street Bob 114, but the Octane is still a great bike by today's standards.

    This bike is absolutely still relevant. Ide honestly say all victory's are due to the 106. But the octane is still the scouts base platform. Shares enough parts as well as allows for more fun than people commonly know about. Revolution performance big bore kits will work for this bike bringing it to a 1300 rocket ship for end price of a new scout.

      So glad I got one. The small frame makes it g easier to handle with the power. Lean into it when you get up there or it will wobble while you try to hang on. You’re causing the wobble with your body weight pulling on the handle bars, not the bike.

    I got mine last summer and think it was a great deal for $7k. Rode flawless and love the acceleration on it. Rides somewhat between a cruiser and sport bike and sounds like a slight supercharger. Mine is also a 156 racing, so I'm curious if there were only 156 made. I just noticed that my right fork seal is leaking so I'll need to replace that, luckily I have another bike to ride till I can get it fixed. Ride on!

    • @DNAHyperformance
      @DNAHyperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree the Octane is a Hybrid between cruiser and sport bike for sure. So far so good with my fork seals but just a matter of time for sure. ✌️

    • @Michael-zw9ou
      @Michael-zw9ou 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idk about 156 made. Maybe? I do know that the 156 does reflect the Project 156 racing they had going. They used this bike for hill climbs and other stuff to get some good racing info.

    Beautiful bike !!! Love what you did to it. Question though. What brand and size tires you rollin on. And where does one find parts or get this bike serviced if it has been discontinued and I need work on internals? A Indian dealer? I don't want my engine scalped by Indian service depts.I live up here in Denver ,Co and there is only a handful of Indian service centers,I tinker abit with engines but not enough for valve or software adjustments.

    • @DNAHyperformance
      @DNAHyperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, the tires are Avon Cobra Chrome, 130 in the front and 190 in the rear. They are awesome I'm sticking with the Avon for as long as I own this beast. They stick like glue, you can feel the front end come up a bit on hard launches. They old tires would just spin like I was on dirt. Unfortunately most Indian are where you need to service it. I don't like the ones around me. So I do most the work but like you I'm not a software guy.

  • @andyvanherwynen9341
    @andyvanherwynen9341 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Certainly relevant, as its basically a better looking Indian Scout. I don't like the Bobber styling of the Indian Scout and the Octane is more like what a Kawasaki Mean Streak could be if Kawwy built a serious power version of a new Mean Streak.

    The Octane is basically the same bike as the Indian Scout.

    • @medwords7265
      @medwords7265 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, similar but way different. My son bought the Scout Bobber and it can't keep up with my Octane. Gearing is better on the Octane and its more responsive in the throttle. Maybe after a tune it might be better but then again they are both stock...for now!

  • @FeatheredDino
    @FeatheredDino 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Of course it's still relevant. It took Harley until 2022 to make a competing bike for the Octanez except Harleys bike is ugly as hell and really isn't a cruiser at all.
    Indian really should take this exact bike, since it's 99% the same as the Scout, re-baged it as their own, and sell it as the Scout Octane

    • @DNAHyperformance
      @DNAHyperformance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm actually surprised they haven't. The FTR is the Octane Motor with dual throttle bodies. But would love to see a Scout R with the Octane motor, that might get me to consider a different bike. 👍✌️

  • @achieveidealweighify

    190 tires??? Wow! That’s way to wide on a stock rim and stock suspension. Would not recommend it to anyone with a victory octane

    • @DNAHyperformance
      @DNAHyperformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      You must be joking, most of the Octane owners put 200 on the stock rim, I thought that was a little big. My tires stick like glue, and dragging pegs are no problem. The bike has never been squirrely in corners.

    • @achieveidealweighify
      @achieveidealweighify ปีที่แล้ว

      The largest tire you can safely put on a 4.5” wheel is a 170. But it’s your bike not mine.
