Bravo! Brava!! And thank you for this! As a life- long dancer - I watch this performance and see perfection of movement and music. There is a reason Bejart is the company that it is. this work is a seamless blending of incredible music and the perfection of movement. It feels both Bejart, and Balanchine. As a dancer, you express in fleeting movement -- words are not necessary. A dancer dances because they must - it burns like a flame inside, and you feel it from the first plie in class. And when you leave the stage for the last time, when the curtain comes down - you teach and pass it on to the next generation of dancers, and they will pass it on. The music of Queen and the music of Mozart are perfect compliments. Mozart was the Freddie of his day. - The show must go on! Peace and Merde.
It struck my heart, but also my gut. Wow! One man has his hair cut that way Nureyev did and looks a bit like him. Intentional? Lovely. The creativity is compelling! I'm catching the bits and pieces that I can. Beautiful; thank you for this.
Yes, he does look a bit like Nureyev - I noticed that too. Many years ago (when I was in love with Baryshnikov and his blue eyes LoL) he was touring and came through Albuquerque - we thought the company was going to be able to take class with him! Everyone was so excited. But no- it was he and his partner, and the pianist. And to add insult to injury, he pulled the shades so we couldn't watch. Oh well, I still have my framed, signed portrait of Misha on my living room wall, when he was in his prime. Merde ;-)
