Most thorough review of the Hue 2 so far.
My issue with the NZXT rgb range is actually the fans.
It seem strange to me that you can only see the led surround from the front side of the fan only - especially since none of their current range of cases have transparent front panels! 🤔
if they could make an ambient kit with a decent update rate and little less brightness id buy a kit. Those cable combs were hilarious

Can you test out the Philips gaming hue then? It updates with 60Hz and is very responsive. Plus you can set how intense the light is and how fast it switches.
The Phillips lighting kits seem to do this much better, with scaling settings for the the update rate for the ambient lighting
Can't the "smart device" on the H400i NZXT case already power the two included LEDs and up to 3 AER RGB fans?
Asus Aura Terminal got better response times - but uses GPU power.
It got the same problem with getting all information just by the pixel on the edge of the screen. For watching movies it is still great.
Did the NZXT got an update after the vid?
My 11yo TV is a Phillips 42", and it has the exact feature (they called it Ambilight) and it worked perfectly. If an 11yo 1080p tv can get this right then so can nzxt in 2018, GET ON THIS PLS
bought a phillips tv this year. And it has the updated ambilight with the tripple line. IT works flawlesly. if its to harsh or i am playing games or whatever. I just press a quick button and can customize it to however i want it. MAkes also home partys amazing since it can act like disco lights too xD
What if they slowed down the refreshing this lighting to very slow and gradual transitions? Wouldn't that still give you the benefits of bias lighting without the annoyance of strobing?
can i run 2 of them on my dual monitor setup? and which one should i get if it is possible i am running two 27" monitors atm side by side
yes, it should work as you are using extend. (5 months late, lol)

I am kind of sad that it seems the ambient lighting kit is not for sale any more. I was hoping for a cheaper option then the Corsair iCUE kit and I already have an NZXT kraken. Guess I am going to be going to the iCUE ecosystem.
Great video, but you didn't make the most important point. RGB can help your cheap 1050 ti perform like a RTX 2080 for just under 100$ !

Why not place a masking tape on the surface of the monitor before you stick the led strip?. I guess it will work..but nice idea though. I will definitely buy those rgb for my monitor.. since christmas is coming..hahaha

Don't buy this. You get blasted by the brightest level of white light until you get to the desktop. The software is buggy and featureless. Despite being set to ambient mode and the CAM application set to start with Windows, it just freezes on the mentioned static white light. Even when you go into the lighting settings you have to toggle the Ambient mode on and off to get it working. Despite all this it's too dull and the refresh rate is awful. It flickers as it transitions between colours it's mimicking on the screen. When you shut down the system the desktop ambient colours remain projected by the LEDs long after the computer shuts down. I spoke to NZXT and got the lamest response regarding these issues. A poorly made product with an abysmal companion app in function and stability.

Yeah you dont like rgb, but thats a crappy way of settings things up, and remember rgb is no performance booster is just to maje it look better so there is no going to far if you like it but you dont

he didnt setup his ambientlight no colors no dynamics nop effects at all only white color very tinteling . bad showout of youre ambientlight
