In my opinion, auto rev matching and hill assist should've been the automatic transmission instead of the actual automatic transmission. Thanks for this video, not much of it on TH-cam.
true. I've tried using my automatic(I know😥😥) in manual mode and I dont like it. I'm not sure I'd like to used a dct with paddles either. the shifting pattern makes you conscious of what gear your're in without even having to think about it. Automatic makes sense when you have more power than you're using anyway, and engine noise. when you're at low rpm / low throttle, dont hear the engine, it doesnt really matter if its an auto. but if you want to use the power, manual is just better Some people would better use auto though. like people who dont go in top gear on the highway even when cruising 😀or downshifting way too late, letting the engine stutter
Finally got it. Thanks a ton for putting this video out there. Blasphemy or not rev matching seems definitely much more satisfying and I see what you're saying.
The problem is when you mis the rev match and dump the clutch, you wear your clutch out. Auto rev match should have been the future. Hopefully it sticks around a few years longer.
NEVER coast in neutral… It’s like rolling in a box with wheels , no control at all. Always engage the right gear or at least coast with 2nd-3rd depending on the road. Be prepared for every situation example: Oil leak from other cars on road , fluids ect .. Car start to slip ….:Using immediately brakes without steering correction may cause control loss so with gear engaging downshift u can slow down or accelerate depending on the situation. I drive manual as daily. (I do toe-toe downshift) cuz my pedal displacement.
i think it’s because I watched the vid over the Bluetooth in my car so my audio was delayed with the video… but when you’re rev matching are you revving before you push clutch in or revving when you disengage clutch before the down shift ? Thanks in advance
you're not supposed to go in neutral on the highway, unless your trying to beat hypermiling records?? if you want to coast just stay in 6th gear and let the the throttle, the engine breaking will be minimal
9:20 why are you "throwing it into neutral to coast into an exit"? Should never be coasting in neutral in the first place. Good video otherwise, thanks.
You know when you downshift while driving you don’t have to hit the brake right? If you’re coming to a stop it makes sense, but like… when you’re just on the highway and downshifting hitting the brakes to heel toe is stupid to me.
No. You don't hit the brakes when rev matching if you're not in a situation whereas you need to use the brakes. When you need to slow down (maybe when making a sharp turn), brake, blip the throttle while braking (so engine speed meets input shaft speed), change to lower gear, release clutch, release brake, then accelerate. You're syncros will be happy.
@@andoniades I’m saying he’s pressing the brakes when downshifting on the highway and not slowing down to stop. He’s just pressing the brake when he downshifts, it’s just weird.
Learning to downshift is fun, but I think something like this would increase the daily ability of a manual and I'd feel better letting someone else drive my car
this is crazy. Do you have any automotive experience? You learned the pedals after buying it? Well, that says it all. The pedal placement can be over hung or mounted to the floor or even a combination. The pedal placement and seat configuration go hand-in-hand. The pedals should be placed wherein the geometry of the body, e.g., skeleton, muscles, etc. are the least stressed and still able to provide varying force on a continuum. In good cars, the pedals can be adjusted. Otherwise, you can take them out and put in your own that meet your exact requirements.
auto rev matching is not such a nice real race car..It's like Modern Era of F1 cars with all automatics involved..! Sure it's a lot better and sounds also a lot better but its not about you..its the car..! Old school race drivers can Rev Match Everything
It's way SAFER to do it yourself. I don't want a machine smashing the gas for me when it doesn't know what's in front of the car. Commenters let me know
I don’t think you understand how downshifts work. When you (or the car) blips the throttle for a downshift, the clutch is already in, meaning the throttle blip does not contribute to your forward acceleration. With the clutch in, the engine and the transmission are disconnected so you can be “smashing the gas” all you want, but you won’t be going faster than your current speed before you hit the throttle.

I hate the blasphemic shit, like keep it as an option and if u wanna use it then use it
I think it's a very neat feature. I wished the WRX had it

Yes! Love the rev match feature in my gt4
Supreme explanation with well placed defining of thought process, thank you.

Nice vid. I did not know about the neutral part. I hope the new model of the WRX gets the auto rev match feature!
Gotta lift off the gas a bit sooner! That clutch is gonna wear prematurely
Idk why you would go into neutral for an exit
cause he's suuuch a race driver
I have a rev match mode but I'm trying to learn the manual way to do it.

Why i always do that when coming down a big hill or coming to a stop
@@Jeanyuhzz for incase you need to swerve out and need power from the gears. Just a bad habit

When using this can you just pop the clutch out or should you downshift how you normally would
Hi bro, I own a 2018 subaru wrx STi , and how to install the auto-rev match experiment system
Google auto-blip.com
This is so well explained. Thanks for also going in depth on the way the 370z matches!
I feel I need to learn this rev match cause I have a stage 2 clutch .....hmmmm

Is there an aftermarket option to add this feature to other cars?
Do a full engine and transmission swap haha

True but a lot of people don't have race cars, they have fast cars that have history but 90% of their miles are just A to B trips
You can also turn it off.
