    Very well researched vídeo, congratulations. It's great to see that someone actually took the time to do all this work about my country. Actually, is one of the more complete non-spanish videos abut Argentina in youtube, Thank you.

      Why do you start Argentina's history with them declaring themselves independent? Please make a video for the history prior to this point

    Very explicit. I am from Taiwan, the historical information about Latino America is very few. Thanks for your video, I like it very much.

    Kudos for the video, it must be a colossal effort to compact the history of Argentina in 20 minutes, that would require rather 2 hours, especially the 20th century part.

    You could've mention the independence of Uruguay after the war against Brazil, the war between Argentina and Buenos Aires in 1854-1861, the war against Paraguay or the marxist guerrillas in 1962-1989. But it's an excelent video for everyone who wants a startup in Argentine history

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I cover that in the history of Uruguay.

    Argentine here. You literally skipped the Década Infame period. Without that context the understanding of the 1943 coup and then the rise of Peron is not complete.

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, I know. It's very hard to keep everything within 20 minutes. I also skipped the very complicated back and forth during independence. When I do it in Spanish I'll expand on it.

    • @santiagodespo9475
      @santiagodespo9475 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @ bro but you skip something important, the terrorism of the montoneros and erp that let to the military junta and was the motive of Videla to kill aproximately 8 thousand people, 30 thousand is an unnoficial number, at the peak this terrorist made one terrorist act every 4 hours and killed aproximately 1 thousand people and the best friend of Peron, Rucci, leader of the CGT, the labour sindicate.

      @ be careful becouse this fight between left and right, USSR vs US it's biased in every sud american country mostly toward the left side becouse of communist influence of Cuba and Venezuela

      @@santiagodespo9475 i dont know about your stadistics on the terrorist attacks but the numbers of desaparecidos in the dictatorships are based on the reports by onu, usa embassy and chilean intelligence all giving around 20000 on 1979, thats alfway thru the process
      Added to this, there are 800 known cladestine detetion centers in the country. If only 40 people were executed om each, thats already over 30000. Only in The ESMA there were 1500.
      Of course ESMA is the biggest one, but were im from, Santiago del Estero, one of the least populated provinces of the country, the center of the capital was hold responsible for 150 homicides. Thats more than 3 times the minimum estimation.

    The hand is very distracting. Moves too fast.
    It might work for a 5min video. But for 20mins it's too annoying.

  • @dewittbourchier7169
    @dewittbourchier7169 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hmmm - 20 minutes is too brief but if you needed to cut time I think a good place to start would be the rise of post-1870 PAN dominated order, the 'radical' period 1916-1930, the Infamous Decade, the fact that the GOU allied both pro-Axis officers and officers who were unwilling to support Castillo trying to return Argentina to the pre Saenz Pena law era. The time 1955 - 1973 is also extremely important for explaining the Proceso. The disenfranchisement of 40% of the population that supported Peron poisoned and discredited any attempt to create a political consensus because key Argentine elites in the conservative establishment and the military refused to countenance and legalise a Peronism without Peron. In this perhaps the coup within the coup of 1955 by Aramburu and the bloody crackdown on the 1956 coup attempt are just as important as Peron's time in office to explain why Argentine politics was so violent. Namely, Peron was authoritarian but murderous. His opponents were both authoritarian and murderous and they showed in bombing downtown Buenos Aires in 1955 and with summary executions in 1956 where Peron had, ultimately, shown restraint in 1951. Finally the Proceso itself is a lot more important from the point of view of the lasting and devastating economic damage it inflicted as opposed to the tens of thousands it murdered.

    The land became a haven of WW2 Criminals....and instead of getting punished for their war crimes, subjugated prime settlers and were forced to oblivion in return. UN must take step bringing this hidden subject before the worlds intimacy.

    "somehow the situation worsened"... Peron could not control the extreme left guerrillas he used to get to power and the military had to step in when they had already taken half of a province and killed over 1000 with bombs to topple Isabelita.

    En Argentina nos gobiernan los socialistas. Los dos principales partidos (FdT / JxC) son similares al Partido Democrata de Estados Unidos. Los distintos partidos de centro a izquierda alcanzan un total del 85%. La derecha en Argentina es muy pequeña, 15% de votos.
