"A metric ton of oil" had me laughing for several minutes. Great review and comparison.
Luke: I have the harsh reality and need a small step down. Would the X cell be a good choice or maybe just get the harsh pearl? (Two hander with 520 ish rpm, 17mph at pins, low tilt, medium axis rotation. )
Either one really. Both will be cleaner and sharper, will have to have either one shiny to get what you're after though
I am looking for a step up from my Phase 2. I’m a straight up tweener, with medium rev medium speed. Should I looking for the X-Cell, Harsh Reality or Gem? Or would the Attention Star or Virtual Reality Blackout would be a better option?
Star and Blackout wouldn't be balls up from the P2, you'd have to go with something stronger and asymmetric, so I'd say the X, Harsh, or Magic Gem will be what you want.
@@LukeRosdahl What about a DNA Coil or a Nuclear Cell?
Me: "Why is Tob Mic'd up?"
End of video me: "ohhh"
Ball looks nice. Especially on the back end
How does the X-Cell compare to the Black Widow 3.0?
Fairly similar, I think the 3.0 is a little stronger and smoother, but the shapes are pretty close.
Rubicon also used etrax s20 and I've always thought that ball is quite a bit stronger than it appears on paper. Are the rubicon and x-cell fairly similar? On video the x-cell appears to be a bit earlier and rounder as expected, but not drastically different.
This is the weird thing because the Rubicon was originally launched saying it was etrax s20 . . but then they changed it to just etrax solid, so I'm not sure what the truth is there. I think the Rubicon is a little cleaner and more hockey stick-ish, so I'd definitely agree with how you're reading it.
Good video as always. However, when you hear the typical asymmetrical solid, I don’t like the fact how the excel is too clean through the fronts. Now, if that’s what the player is looking for that’s fine, but in my opinion, it does not fit the traditional early asymmetrical, solid that’s early and smooth. Kind of like how you showed the magic gem, gem, harsh reality and of course you cannot forget the supernova and the proton physix
Luke would you say this x-cell is in optimum idol territory?
Nah, the Idol is quite a bit earlier and smoother, plus a fair amount stronger because it has the Gem cover.
I might get one in Jan or Feb.
I forgot about the Nuclear Cell cover. This does seem like it might be pretty close to that formula
im excited my pro shop guy i can get drill it tuesday
So which is closer to alpha crux xcel or eternity pi?
It's hard to say, I think the Alpha is right in between them. The Pi shapes more like it, but seems earlier and smoother, X is a little more of an arc and a little sharper, but seems to be closer to overall strength.
I like it 😍
Looks nice how does it compare to the Eternity Pi ?
I talked about it in the video, albeit briefly. Tobias feels like they're very close, this one is just a little longer and sharper.
@@LukeRosdahl i apologize i did hear you say that after i left the message .. thanks and i really like your reviews
I was able to get one early myself. I threw about 3-4 games with it and I fell in love with it. I only bowled on a pretty beat up house shot, but after a bit I was able to get it to work for me.
I'd say it also compare to my Primal Shock. I start with the Magic Gem on the fresh and ball-down into the Primal. This video shows a similar reaction.
Primal has a significantly higher RG core though, I think they'd be a whole lot different if you put them side by side. I think they shape similarly though, they have the same cleaner arc, but again, I think you'd see some significant differences throwing them against each other.
@@LukeRosdahl Assym vs. sym too. I forgot about that. Hard to remember a shape when it's not side by side. :)
Yeah it's definitely tricky, but I DO see what you're talking about, the shape is very familiar for sure.
