30 years ago, DQ was my first job when I was 16 in Carrizo Springs, TX. I still have the skills of the DQ Curl and making the cones the way I did at work. He’s right, once you learn, you never forget. Brings back some great memories! I love it! Makes me miss Home - Texas.
@@triciajumonville7741 - The headquarters is located in Minnesota, but it is *from* Illinois actually. The state with the most Dairy Queens is Texas, but the state with the most Dairy Queens per person is Minnesota
What an outstanding story not only about Dairy Queen’s oldest location in Texas but Henderson as well! Very nice people indeed! All the best to everyone there was a guy in Western Canada!🇨🇦
They just closed our local DQ here in northwest Louisiana. I'm 64 and my mom took us there when I was in elementary school. Gonna miss it. It was the first one to come to Louisiana if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks for the memories!! My sisters and I used to walk to the DQ on Bowling Highway (I think) in Wharton, TX. We each got a chocolate-dipped cone and brought dad change from the dollar he gave us.
Back in the ‘60’s there was a Tastee-Freez and Dairy Queen near us, no McDonald’s. Both had good food. Dip cones were such a treat. My parents were addicted to “Peanut Buster Parfaits”
I'm from Texas but have lived in Jacksonville, FL since 1995. We have a Dairy Queen a few blocks away and I was disappointed when they didn't have the DQ Dude on the menu, and they'd never even heard of it.
Yea it’s kind weird but in the state of Tx the hamburgers and other baskets are only sold in the state of TX . In all other states they just sell the ice cream and crap burgers. I crossed in to NM and there is a DQ there I figured it so close to TX it should have the same menus but it didn’t.
Dairy Queen is a staple here in Texas. Interestingly,I was surprised to discover that not all locations offer breakfast, because the DQ in my little town does. The kids get biscuits or breakfast tacos on the way to school.
A great bucket list would be old Texas restaurants that are closed now. One was Essary’s dairy mart in Coleman, Tx. It closed at least 20 years ago. Mr. Essary is still living. It was the best burger joint I’ve eaten at. He had a deep fried taco that was awesome. Also, the old Mr. Burger chain. I remember them in Coleman & Brownwood. Just seeing the old buildings and getting the info from the old owners would be neat.
I grew up with a dairy queen close to us. I remember the finger basket. I really liked the burgers. Anyone try the beltbuster? We went for ice cream treats as a little kid on thise hot afternoons. I miss it and havent been for many years. California doesnr really have many DQs not like in texas!😮😮
McCart location Fort Worth. Go there. Your order will be wrong. And if your number 4 in the drive thru expect 25 minute wait. Spoiler: Staff is all Black
I am 52 and to me there is still no better treat than a vanilla cone from Dairy Queen i know will be enjoying them for as long as i live : )

Good old East TX..Home swt Home! Lots of DQ memories growing up💜💜
"...it fits everything but the bank!" 😂😂😂😂 I'm easily amused lol

Awe. Well I'm glad that you have those good memories at least. Thanks for sharing it with us. GOD BLESS.

Steak Fingers and Tacos are my favorites. Of course, you can't go wrong with the Hunger-buster.
We had an Elementary School teacher that would occasionally take us for ice cream cones at a Dairy Queen a few blocks away.
Don't ever quit doing these videos
Love this Dairy Queen!!! Very unique and special!!

Makes me feel proud to be a Texan all over again! Very nice video.

Now do the OG Whataburger in Corpus Christi
Love it. Keep'm coming. 💯🤘🤘🤘🤘
The DQ in Center is still the old original building , not even remodeled and still operating .
Ahhhh…Speed-trap Henderson, I know it well. As for the DQ, it is sad that the old store could not have been saved.
Why is it “speed trap Henderson”?? If you don’t mind me asking
Jus slow down! Its not hard!!

When I was a kid the DQ in my hometown had cheese enchiladas on the menu. Came with rice and beans. It was a favorite of mine as a little kid.
WOW. An actual ice box. LOL.
I like Texas bucket list videos on TH-cam from the imperial co California 👍

Yup, Mr. Burger was an awesome restaurant chain.
Love this channel! A daily watch.
I miss the old wooden store
Back in the '70s my favorite was the "Hot Fudge Brownie Delight," I would have eaten that three times a day if I could.
That sound pretty good.
Y'all always put on a great show 👍
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thank you too!
I really like the tacos there.
We pass thru there at least once a year. Always get the steak fingers and an dipped ice cream cone.
Exactly what I get whenever I go to DQ. My 2 favorite items for decades now.
Daily Queen, the ice cream and burger was the best, that’s to keeping history going.
I ❤ DQ & TTBL!!
Certified Gold!!!!!
Why don’t most of the small towns don’t have Whataburgers?
Looks like they did a bad "re-model"....nothing classic looking about this DQ....great channel and DQ is an awesome place!
The DQ near where I grew up became a Chinese restaurant. The entire shopping center behind it did too

I believe Crockett is also one of the older Dairy Queen in Texas
I've been to a DQ in Texas that hadn't changed its look. I think they said they were 4th?
Can't go wrong, dining at the Texas Stop Sign.
It’s Henderson, TX
That is very, VERY NICE, 😉😁👍🍭🍧🎂
Wish they could have kept up the old building, just modernize some of the equipment.
I miss the Beltbuster!
It about blew my girlfriend's mind to find out that they have Dairy Queens all over the country. I believe the first one came out of Illinois.
I always thought dq was a Texas thing broke my heart when I found out it didn’t start here 😭
2:19-2:25
Always wondered that
The tacos my go to
Bring back the Brazier Burger
What happened those ham and cheese sandwiches
Why is he always winking.
You should go to Dave's Hot Chicken in Waco.
McCart location Fort Worth. Go there. Your order will be wrong. And if your number 4 in the drive thru expect 25 minute wait. Spoiler: Staff is all Black
They destroyed it and renovated it...
Good story. But I have pay? I/m on a fixed income
Just had DQ last night. I ordered the belt buster, and they put 4 patties on it. It was huge.
I live in KY now, having moved from E. Texas in 2000. There is no Beltbuster or Dude up here. 😒😒
@@patricksmith3316 aww man! Sorry to hear, but this I my first time hearing about "the dude". Never had one.
@@johntmasseyjr it's a great little steak sammich. I used to eat the daylight out of them at the Crockett DQ.
Other than blizzards, DQ has turned to garbage. We used to have a Dq with a walk up window, but sadly it closed 20 years ago.
DQ is not Texan
