Last week we linked with Detroit artist DameDot for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down he talked about life in Detroit, growing up on the Eastside of Detroit, jumping off the porch, taking music serious after the first time he was paid to make music, explains how Team Eastside formed, shares his thoughts on why it took a while for the Detroit music scene to blow up, being one of the creators of the “Detroit sound”, the artists in Detroit getting along & supporting each other, having to cut off some of his close friends to get to where he’s at in his career, explains why he never shot a music video for “Spend Some Money”, making beats since middle school, looking up to Manne Fresh & Drumma Boy as producers, preferring to rap over beats from producer RellOnTheTrack, his new project ‘Mafia Lord Chapter 2’, explains why he partnered with Empire instead of signing with a major label, his new music video “Pop Smoke” featuring GT, his new single “Balacannas”, upcoming projects, fatherhood, and much more!
