MIKE!!!!!! YOU DA' MAN!!!!! Like many others on this TH-cam tutorial purchased and had NO CLUE how to set this new and exciting wifi up. I just followed step by step and you nailed it. I am very thankful and appreciative for you help. Thank you again. You have a friend here in Bakersfield CA.
@@LichtsinnRV Question for you - Will the Air 360+ with the Gateway work to connect to Verizon? Or do you need the ConnecT 2.0 to do what you've shown? I am SO getting the runaround from Verizon...
@@donnaedwards1014 Good morning Donna... yes it will and please note your important point... you do need the Gateway accessory for this.... in essence the Air 360+ with the Gateway is a 360+ but adds the off air antenna... since so many RVs already include a local antenna, use of the Air 360 is pretty rare.
@@LichtsinnRV I have a living quarters horse trailer, so not your typical RV, LOL! So, can the Gateway be placed inside the dome or does it have to go on the ceiling below the dome? I'm sorry for all the questions - you're the only resource I've found that has been helpful (and promising). The manufacturer installs an Air 360 on most of the LQs they make. Should I see if I can get them to install the ConnecT instead? Does the ConnecT also have UHF/VHF/FM antennas?
@@donnaedwards1014 Good morning! No sweat, happy to help. The Gateway installs directly below the Winegard... page 4-5 at this link will show you: d38mfwkkxtsm2m.cloudfront.net/documents/2452438.pdf
You can also connect your smart TV, like say the Roku that came with the RV to that wifi network, this will allow the TV to show the free channels plus some live programs
Good morning Kevin! You bet... great point and correct... all you need is a TV with HDMI and a USB power point nearby the HDMI connection... although many of our newer RVs are coming with Smart TVs or Smart Players as well. Thanks for contributing!
Hi thanks for the great info. If you leave your Rv main power on so the winegard 2 connect is always powered on, how much battery life does this unit take say for like a week? Does it drain battery. I do have a 100 watt solar panel that replenishes the battery daily and and wonder if I could keep it on all the time. I have wifi cameras on the Rv for security purposes even when stored. If it doesn’t drain it enough to affect it, I may leave power switch on all the time making sure everything else is off. Thanks
Good morning! Thanks for your note... you'll first go out and search for the Winegard network/SSD to log in... if you saw a different in the video it was because an iPad always reconnects to a remembered network if the one you're on drops. Hope this helps!
Good evening David! Thanks for your note... you are correct in that you'll need the Winegard Connect IMEI number that our parts team can provide you before you secure a Mini SIM card from Verizon. Just reach out to our parts team ahead of installation and we can provide that to you so that we can have your SIM card installed for you!
Hello again. The manual that came with the winegard has the stickers for a winegard 2. Problem is this for a different ssid. The info doesn’t match. How do I find the password to log in when I can’t log into it in the first place. Thanks
Hi Jerry! Thanks for your note... this is the default SSID you will setup your newly created network with, and won't use it in the future. You do have to start here though to setup your local network.
Good afternoon! Thanks for your note... you should be able to use the default, which is located on the sticker on the front of your owners manual. Hope this helps!
Hi Mike, thank you for this much needed video. Question, did you already have to activate your Verizon SIM card before inserting it into the Winegard SIM slot, or does the online software activate it for you. I took out the AT&T supplied SIM card, and AT&T gave me a new matching one, but they were not sure as to how to proceed. I was hoping a new AT&T card added to my current unlimited plan (going from 2 to 3 SIM cards, the new one added to the Winegard) will actually be cheaper than buying from Winegard). How do I activate it?
Good evening! Thanks your note... your carrier (Verizon, AT&T, etc) would need to activate the SIM card you insert, and they usually provide it. This would replace the SIM card from Winegard, which is a data plan they sell and you pay Winegard... underlying signal is from AT&T but more expensive than going under your current account.
Good afternoon Jim! You can use either as long as it is activated to the IMEI number of the Winegard you're using. In our case, we had Verizon send us a card activated to the IMEI number of the Winegard in this guest's Forza. Hope this helps!
Good morning! You could always just purchase data thru Winegard as needed, but as to monthly commitments, it really is up to your plan selected thru your carrier. However, I have seen plans as low as $10 per month when they discount from $20 per month if you already have one unlimited line. Hope this helps!

And Verizon is STILL saying it can't be done. I am SO thankful I found your video!!!
Good evening! You're very welcome!

excellent instructions so going to do exactly what you said contact Verizon’s and order my small SIM card.

The Verizon SIM card you used, was it a post-paid or pre-paid SIM card? I’m trying to use a pre-paid SIM and I’m having issue. Thanks. Jim

Will a Tmobile chip work? Still GSM towers
Good morning Scott! Thank you for your note! Yes, T Mobile will work with the Connect 2.0. Hope this helps!
