Live music is a huge part of my life, and i have seen alot. But im gonna go a head and say it Reverend horton heat live at Milwaukee's Miramar was the Best show i was ever at. I was One hundred percent sober for that one, and it still was the Ballsiest shit i have ever seen.
Jim is my favorite musician and RHH is the best live band on the planet. The first time I saw them live (many years ago), I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor. The band's talent, combined with the audience's reaction, was waaaay too much power for the small room we were all in- I felt a black hole opening up! I have probably seen the Rev 50 times, and they never disappoint.
I'm lucky enough to have seen the Rev about 35 times and EVERY show is absolutely top notch, tight, powerful even after 30 years. RHH is a force of nature.
i've never got that vibe from them in all the times i've seen them. when I met Rev. he was a nice enough guy. Jimbo even more so, we had a beer after the concert & BS'ed about having Galaxie 500's, no shit.
anyone else notice Scott is wearing a Motorhead tee? how awesome is that! Saw them both together on a triple bill w/Nashville Pussy....one of the best shows of my life!
motorchanger. That was my induction to The Reverend... he was preaching right before God Lemmy at the house of blues in Tampa 2009. an incredible show!!
I saw Jim and the gang touring with Soundgarden in 1994 in Ft Lauderdale. It was the first time i ever saw an opening band ignite a crowd as well as a headliner. Next day i went out and bought Liquor in the Front and i've been a fan ever since.
The '73 Galaxie 500 was one of the last true muscle cars, featuring the Ford 429 engine, the mass-produced version of their legendary 427 Cammer racing engine. Afterwards came the "malaise" era, full of cars with tiny, anaemic engines that only barely wheezed along. In this era of syrupy pop-rock, Reverend Horton Heat is much the same way - a proper rock-and-roller in an era of weak, sacchrahine pop.
Saw the Rev this song last week. Three days later I was walking down the street and there was a mint condition Galaxy 500 parked on the street. Complete with the '1973' on the trunk. I actually wanted to find the owner to ask 'em if they know this song, lol.
man these guys are awesome and so down to earth. last time they were in San Antonio I sat up front row and rocked out! to make things even better Jimbo can and drank a beer with my boy friend and I across the street at the show.
@backwoodsmister I remember them at Deep Ellum also, they formed in Dallas, only about 20 min. drive for us living in Euless. Step outside, smoke one go back in and soak up the Gretsch going rock-o-wild!! Cheers from Texas!!!
I love this so much...epic performance. I saw them play many years ago in Santa Barbara and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I have some vague memory of accidentally bumping into the Reverend when I went outside and spilling his drink, but he was totally friendly about it.
Just saw 'The Rev' opening for Motorhead last week in Montreal. Great show except for one big problem: They didn't have time to play longer. So we didn't get to hear a couple of rock'in tunes like this. Freak'in amazing, these guys! Thanks for this great video, poozhaan.
I finally saw him at (of all things) at a tattoo convention in Tulsa, OK. Devil Doll opened for him, they were both awsome! The Rev makes it to Tulsa frequently, hope to see him again.
I used to check out The Rev in the 90s and 00s a bunch. Now finally going to get my ass out to see them again in July with The Blasters. Going to be killer.
Hello, first saw the Rev at Emo's in Austin Texis in 1993 on my brother's birthday. I have seen them since in Tucson twice, both times at Club Congress...once with my boyfriend who is a talented musician... I dragged him to the show becuase he was skeptical... after the first few songs the guy was up front with his mouthopen. Some time later he looks at me and says, "that guy is a f**king monster guitar player!!!" I nodded, yes, that's right!!! I've also seen them twice in Seattle
@OxCxHxC i became a sinner after i saw the Rev! LMAO woooohooooo they rocked the House of Blues Saturday night, and they played this... and i finally met Jim and Jimbo!!! mmmhmmmmm
I could make a comment about how much I love the Rev and how great the band is however the name speaks for itself. So I'll say this, The dude who set up the lighting needs a high five and a beer, kick ass job.
Saw 'em last night at Lupos in Providence, RI. Fucking amazing show, this song had the crowd REALLY moving. This and Psychobilly Freakout produced a mixture of moshing and swing dancing. Very interestingly awesomely fun. Go see these guys if you get the chance, they're amazing!
The full size car line from Ford 1959 thru 1974. It was their moderate priced model competeing head to head against the Chevy Impala. BTW The automobile name is spelled GALAXIE... no 'Y'
I saw the Reverend live three times in college. I remember the worst/best gig was the White Rabbit in San Antonio c. 2007. Bikers fighting at the front, as soon as the music started they began to break bottles on the ground. Someone put out their cigarette on my friend's arm. It was great.
I saw them open for Soundgarden in 1994 at Sunrise Musical Theater in Florida. I had never seen an opening band kick so much fucking ass. I've been a big fan ever since.
@tombokickass I like: The Meteors-songs to try:Black black night, wrecking crew, phantom rider Batmobile-songs to try:Bambooland, Ice Rock Kings of Nuthin-songs to try:For you, shit outta luck, Nation on Fire, The Koffin Kats are cool too, and there's alot more bands out there, but I don't know too much about them. Check out the album "Kicked outta Purgatory". It is a compilation CD with alot of good rockabilly bands. Some are alittle too heavy on the punk side, but cool anyways.
Dad never disappoints. Best live show you'll ever see. Rock on Pops.
is jim heath your dad?
Live music is a huge part of my life, and i have seen alot. But im gonna go a head and say it Reverend horton heat live at Milwaukee's Miramar was the Best show i was ever at.
I was One hundred percent sober for that one, and it still was the Ballsiest shit i have ever seen.
You have experienced the Rev live. You can now live in peace.
The Reverend will always get an encore, theres no way he'll ever displease at a show.
his music is so timeless
it always sounds perfect at any time you listen to it
been to many concerts in my lifetime and theirs one was absolutely the best
I have seen him live and it was one of the best shows I have seen ever. Top 5 for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met Jimbo the last time they were in Houston. He was buying gum before the show. He was real cool about handling a gushing fan.
Jimbo is an awesome himan bein
Met him too, pre show and had a couple of beers with him, many MANY years ago. He's an amazing soul. My only real brush with greatness.
J-I-M-B-O!
Did he have a pompadour skull tattooed on his arm?
I shall never tire of these guys....ever.
still not tired...
Jim is my favorite musician and RHH is the best live band on the planet.

i thought when listening to this on the album that it would be hard to do live but he nails it.
Dudes a pretty good guitar player
The Rev nails everything live.
i've never got that vibe from them in all the times i've seen them. when I met Rev. he was a nice enough guy. Jimbo even more so, we had a beer after the concert & BS'ed about having Galaxie 500's, no shit.
Rev and band autographed the hood of my '65 ford fairlane 500 in 1993 in Denver. The most treasured autograph i've ever nabbed
Heeeells yes. It was well worth suffering through the openers to see the Rev and Jimbo in action.
anyone else notice Scott is wearing a Motorhead tee? how awesome is that! Saw them both together on a triple bill w/Nashville Pussy....one of the best shows of my life!
motorchanger. That was my induction to The Reverend... he was preaching right before God Lemmy at the house of blues in Tampa 2009. an incredible show!!
The reverend does an awesome version of the Ace of Spades
The Rev has a deep love for Lemmy's work.

Scott, the drummer came into my karaoke night at the Winedale in Dallas and did the best rendition of ACDC~BIG BALLS. Sang it like a total RockStar.
man these guys are awesome and so down to earth. last time they were in San Antonio I sat up front row and rocked out! to make things even better Jimbo can and drank a beer with my boy friend and I across the street at the show.

It's an Archtop, it's hollow and has soundholes to double as an acoustic, and it's design gives it a bluesy/country sound to it.
