- Hello, this video is about our living in the French medieval village hidden in the mountains, located on French Riviera. I can not say that this is a rural life, because we are close to Monaco and Nice, but when you live in it you feel that you are cut from the rest of the world, and this feeling is very unique. That is why I am sharing it with you, and hope you will enjoy to watch it. Thank you ;)

Very nice lifestyle. The natural light is great on this coastline. I wandered the south coast for many years and learned lots. Not in riches but upon a far poorer path. Wonderful amounts of memories were made. I hope your lives blossom and learn to reflect good things. 😊

Trivia: did you know the sleepy village of Antibes began the national football league in France?
For 4 years we lived on an island off the coast of Australia, we had trolleys with wheels to do our groceries, we called them Granny Trolleys! But very helpful and definitely good for kids to pull along!

@@frenchvibes7604 Yes was thinking the same thing. There is the stair climbing trolling that has three small wheels instead of one, on either side and you can pull it up stairs quite easily. I use one myself. By the way, I love your videos, just came across them on TH-cam and am trying to watch them all. I also subscribed, so thanks for sharing them with us.
I've literally just seen foldable, stair climbing wheeled shopping trolleys at Aldi supermarket today too?! Didn't know that you can get stair climbing wheeled ones?! Only $29.99 Australian dollars... hopefully they have them available near you soon!! 😱☺️💪👍

Oh, I can relate to once a month grocery shopping! I do it twice a month & get a ride with a minimal walk. Have you considered a wagon, wheel barrel or etc.? Here in he US inner city people sometimes use a large suitcase on wheels to carry groceries..
I'm a huge fan of medieval villages in the French Riviera. I've visited many, and hope to live in one someday.

Well I guess it’s depends on the Village, there are few medieval villages around, and atmosphere is different in each of them… our village is very « young » (I mean families) compare to other villages. And we are the closest village to Monaco, so everyone works there and speaks English and very very open mind. @@frenchvibes7604 Thanks so much for your observations. I was considering the village perché of Carros where I have friends nearby. However, the pandemic intervened, so I stayed in New York City. If I manage to return, I will look for villages with children. Maybe those families are more open to making friends. Merry Christmas to you too. I appreciate your response.

Tartiflette looks so delicious. I live on Hawai'i Island and we don't hv access to the kind of cheese used in this recipe. I so enjoy French cuisine so I am going to do this dish using two camembert rounds. All the other ingredients I hv.

You must buy a granny trolley which has wheels and you can carry groceries in it even on those steps.

I am currently working my way through them all - I will be so sad when I reach the final one! Could you please write the name of the cheese you used in the Tartiflette? The trolleys with rolls are very good ,and also backbags ,are helpful , I noticed that ,happily your stairs are not so high !!! Here in hydra island in Greece ,we have also sweet donkeys !!! Ha ha ha ! ...
SO brave living up such a difficult terrace with all the daily living! You will keep fit strong and healthy from it though, so that is the benefits of all the physical hard work every day walking and then carrying your monthly shopping. Perhaps you can get a foldable cart or little beach buggy to help carry some of it for you and make things a little bit easier. Even using suitcases with wheels or a washing basket trolley with washing basket could possibly be helpful or child's pram or stroller? Thankyou for sharing!!! We carry our groceries as well...but we use larger backpacks and sometimes carts. They would make your life easier...you should try this!

We used to live in the center of the village of Saint Paul de Vence, so we can sympathize with you on carrying everything up the stairs. We couldn't park our car nearby, so like you, we'd drop our groceries on the curb by the stairs, where my wife would wait while I parked the car. We now own a house close to to village and are currently renovating it. I'm trying to figure out what village you're in, but it doesn't look familiar.

Bonjour. I recently found your channel, and am watching all of your videos from the beginning. They are stunning, both visually and audibly. I took my first trip to France a year ago (2022), and spent a few hours in Rouen. It was such a wonderful visit, I have decided to move to France (from the U.S.) within the next few years. I have watched many vlogs of different areas, but your videos have persuaded me to focus on the southern region of the country. Also, last night, I made Tartiflette for my family for dinner. I substituted a few ingredients (cubed ham instead of bacon - although I used bacon grease to cook with, scallions/green onions instead of regular onions, and Camembert instead of what you used). IT WAS A HIT!!! My family loved it. I will definitely be making it again. Thank you very much for including your recipes in your videos. I look forward to watching the rest, and new ones as they come out.

You need a granny cart to help you with all those groceries. The cart wheels will be able to handle the shallow steps and getting the groceries home will be easier!

Get yourself a fold up wagon. They are very compact and unfold to accommodate the bags of groceries.

This reminds me a lot of towns in Italy. Like our village. Very old with lots of steps and stone ramps. Our house which is really the lookout tower and built before other buildings. 700 CE.

Unlike you we live in New York with many shopping temptations, many times my hands look like yours because I always say I am just going to get one thing and next thing I am walking out of Trader Joe’s with 4 heavy bags…it’s just easier to carry my groceries then call a cab or jump on the subway if we didn’t drive. 😂
