    Let me first say that I'm not a Corvette lover (I'm from Europe and I love Porsches) , but I always respected the long and great history of this American icon. This series however does a great job warming me up to the Corvette. These men show true love for the Corvette and it is great to hear the views on the car from the chief engineer. I actually wish each episode was longer and maybe a bit more of a documentary. That would be great to watch. Thanks for this great series!

    All people seem to want now on TH-cam now is over the top car reviews/info. There is plenty to be said for real genuine information and honesty about cars and how they came to be. Not every video has to be an over the top screaming drift-fest.

    "Do customers complain about the turning circle?" Man the commentary in these videos is so thrilling and enlightening.

    I agree with him. I have read Car and Driver since 1986, and it helped make me the giant car nerd that I am today. They have had some great writers over that time. Maybe it doesn't translate well to video, but their writing has been top notch. I like this guy as a chief engineer on the Corvette too. They made great progress on the C7. The C6 was already a pretty awesome car. He kind of reminds me of Ted Danson when he was on Cheers.

    Enjoyed the series. No yahoo shouting or tire burning, just straightforward car-guy talk down memory lane in the spirit of a couple of true connoisseurs.

    Good video BUT Pleas ask better questions next time. Heck you got the chef engineer next to! All you got from him was improved turning radius and slightly smaller steering wheel.

    Base Corvettes have more performance than 95% of their buyers will ever need or even have the skills to use. Upgrading to Z06 or ZR1 is just kinda silly unless you're in that 5% with the skills and opportunity to actually take advantage of the supercar capabilities of those trims.

    More rearward bias is good if you like understeer, it is not the be-all, end-all of performance, Don.

    looking at the end of the video, certainly seems that tadge is preparing a rear-mounted engine corvette...

    C6 feels like the last real vette to me. The v4 crap I hear people hate on the c7 ruins the car, also not a fan of c7 look compared to c5/c6

      True, which is a shame since the C6 is actually a really good car.

  • @KnightDriveTV
    @KnightDriveTV 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a shame this C6 opportunity was wasted talking about the C7 turning circle. Was interested to see his specific words talking about C5 then moving to C6. I own both currently...C5Z and C6 LS3 car...curious what he was going to say but...none of that really.

    You should've used Welburn (designer of the C7) in these videos. Maybe he could've given a decent perspective on the evolution of the Vette.

    This writer is cool and the designer a little bit cooler. But making a car rear weight biased doesn't make it better in everyway. What you want is a predictable chassis with good grip. If u want to set lap times having more weight in the rear is better but its more fun to have it a little to the front(drifting). Plus not to mention how expensive it is to shift everything farther back like the transmission or other heavy components. And what is it gona be like to work on if you got to fix it? Being simple is sometimes the best answer, but since most people will buy a car for its numbers on paper and not how it makes you feel... money talks.

  • @Terraceview

    I appreciate these videos but they're a bit boring. You'd think you'd get some more out of the chief engineer of Corvette. He seems like a very charismatic guy, why not take him to a test track with all the Vettes sometime and let him drive them fast and hard and give commentary, that would be great!

    • @ShockwavesFTW
      @ShockwavesFTW 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Well, the title of the video says "Car Nerds", not "Car Track Stars".... I feel like everyone's expecting too much out of a video series that tells you exactly what you're going to get. It's just two guys talking.

    • @Terraceview
      @Terraceview 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** I understand what you guys are saying, I'm a car nerd myself and do not want these vids to just disappear. What I really meant is that I would love to hear this guy ring these Vettes the way he did when developing them and sharing that information with us as well, I mean in all, we care more about a Vette's performance than it's key hole position right?

      Yeah, kind of left a bad impression immediately in the video. Shouldn't film people who have little enthusiasm. This is why I watch channels like the smoking tire and /drive. They're enthusiastic, energetic and informative.

    • @awksweat230
      @awksweat230 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xeil There's no denying that this is boring but I would consider it more laid back than other videos. It's important for auto critics to have relationships such as this with chief auto engineers for the future. Maybe just put more energy into it like you said.
