This is my 2nd fave film of all-time (#1 is IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE) and so glad you are giving an ii in depth look at it now (finally too).. Q: We all know Spielberg has a voice over cameo in the film as the Amity Harbor Patrol on the radio w/Quint but I am 99/100% certain he is also on screen. In the scene for the 4th of July as Meadows and Brody walk across the beach the camera pans right and we see a cameraman with Peter Benchley's journalist - I am sure that the cameraman is Spielberg! Any takers? I've not seen anyone else ask about this nor confirm it.

It’s hard to convey what it was like seeing this in a packed cinema in 1975. An unforgettable experience. I saw it many times after that.
