Windsurfing takes a lot of dedication to get good. People work on perfecting their jibes for their entire lives. The kiteboarding learning curve is much easier and you can become a proficient rider quickly. But you can get into a lot more trouble if you don't get proper lessons.
From experience there is nothing quite like being dialed in and really shredding with a windsurfer, even a big ass kite loop. But to get to that point windsurfing it will take A LOT of riding.
