    I'm planning to come down to the Great Smoky Mountains area over November to do some mountain biking and was hoping to get some good suggestions of where to go

      I love to mountain bike and I live in Knoxville and there are hundreds of miles of trails 20 Min from me. There are some amazing downhill trails such as Windrock, Haw ridge, and ACDC. Just 5 min from downtown knoxville theres a set of over a hundred trails called the dirty south loop.

      Caleb Hudson Hey man do you have anymore trails that you know of? I live in Farragut and was really wanting to get into mountain biking soon.

      Caleb Hudson Unfortunately I'm only 17 and have no job so as a result it's gonna take me a while to actually get a bike but I have no clue how much I need, people say to start out on a hard tail so that's what I'm gonna do but have no clue what brand or anything to really aim for lol.

    Looked like you were moving really fast to be cutting those corners, but looks like you made it all in one piece. I think i will do that the next time i go to Gatlinburg, just not as fast as you did.

    I dont understand why you have to pay money for that trail. You drive to knoxville and you have arguably some of the best mountain biking single track in the entire south at numerous locations and its all public parks. plus this trail would take someone like myself at a somewhat higher skill level a very short time to ride(if no one was in my way). It looks like a lot of fun though. definitely not a black diamond trail. I just dont understand the point of spending money on that.

      Tourist trap, it fits right in for that area where everything in Gatlinburg is total garbage tourist traps and wallet drainers.

  • @josecarrillop
    @josecarrillop 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like a nice distraction from the taffy. Good to see people riding who never get to, and having fun. That's what it is about. First you suffer, then you get the payoff.

    • @MotoAtheist
      @MotoAtheist 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, right.... it doesn't get any safer!! The trail looks 4 foot wide at least. Do a search for mountain biking and you'll see what dangerous really is.

    You really have to pay to ride it?

    • @travelthenarrowtrail8660
      @travelthenarrowtrail8660 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know I'm responding to this and your comment is 2 years ago. But yes, you have to pay and if you don't have your own bike its more. It's the only place in Gat. that allows mountain biking. I would suggest go down to Knoxville, about 45 min or less and ride Baker Creek preserve. It's free! And its so much fun... Ride on...

  • @jeffreyscottharris
    @jeffreyscottharris 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude, how long have you been riding? How much downhill have you done? Just curious. Looked like you were too high in some of the berms...

  • @cntryboygeetar
    @cntryboygeetar 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Jeffrey Harris: You must not really ride mountain bikes much do you? Berms are for speed, the more speed the higher a berm you take. He didn't even go to the highest part and stayed midway. If it was me, I would be on the vertical part for maximum speed and berm efficiency.

    to be as brutally honest. this place is a rip off. here in georgia we have several downhill mountain biking trails and none of them cost any money. you have to pay 28 bucks for something that isnt for beginners but is marketed toward beginners that isnt free for only like 2 minutes of actually downhill.

    • @MotoAtheist
      @MotoAtheist 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that's nuts!!! But tourist trap areas are all about ripping as much money out of the wallet as possible.

    • @centralfloridaenthusiast7254

      exactly.

    • @chrisgibbs804
      @chrisgibbs804 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trail looks well built, smooth and flowy, but I agree, there are great trails out there that are free. Also, regular trails aren't that smooth, that's deceptive :P

    • @centralfloridaenthusiast7254
      @centralfloridaenthusiast7254 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      i mean theres a trail down the street from my house called harbins park and how an amazing pump track, nothing like this but still this is way to short. its in Gatlinburg if that says anything.
