I raised pre-flop with good hands in a recent tournament game. I was called by aggressive, loose players and ended up losing as I had no luck with hitting any cards. I was surprised by what they called with during the game, low, unsuited cards not in sequence yet their cards always seemed to be winning hands. Then I thought maybe I should just play all my crappy hands like they do!! One of the guys playing the offsuit, unconnected low cards ended up winning the tournament!!! So frustrating.
For the last tip regarding playing at the right site it would help a lot if you would list some decent options. Especially for U.S. players where we are limited
This is noob gold. It’s good to constantly remind myself that while playing is fun - winning is even more fun! Thank you for all that you do for us. Respect!
@@BlackRain79Pokerhey man if I wanna be a profitable player online, should I play 6 or 9 handed tables? I know 6 handed you can play more hands because it’s faster, but I see more coolers playing 6 handed like set over set, two pair losing to a higher two pair, etc. In your opinion is it better to play 6 or 9 handed online??
Valuable advice as always. Also, sometimes the fish will have a huge stack because that’s the game. But they will give it all back in the end. They can’t help it. So, just be the one who takes it! Thank you sir!
I'm taking a poker break but your videos book 100% what helped me level up. #9 yep. I think you said this before play the right number of tables so that you're making still good decisions (not too many) and not playing too much trash (too few/bored). Table selection table selection (#1)! Glad to see you're doing well BR you rock 🙌
none... ever. Online IF the site is legit, and likely it is not, then you're still fighting g people using software to help tehm and people collaborating with others so your chances to win are extremely low (basically like playing Lotto). Never play real money online, and be VERY suspect of any home games too Nik Airball and others got taken for >$1MM in home games if it can happent o them it can happen to you way more easily
Everything BR is saying is common sense and is classic Tight/Aggressive poker. In reality to play this style you have to have a lot of patience to wait for hands and no reservations about playing at people hard when you have them. Undoubtedly you will still lose some of these hands and if you are playing live it will make you predictable at the table...but it's the most sound if unexciting strategy out there for an amateur player in my opinion coupled with a basic understanding of position.
I play in a home game; 10 handed, blinds 5/5, buy-ins $200 min to any amount. Pots are always multiway and raised. People take flops with ANY two cards for up to $40 and then evaluate. Last night the pot of the night was over $4000. 94 off suit won against pocket AA and Jack high straight. I know playing good cards should get the money in the long run, but I am on a losing streak for several weeks. Guaranteed; if I have pocket AA and the flop comes 662, someone has a 6. I'm depressed and going broke.
The game your in is obviously a juicy game but the juicier the game the higher the variance. Also don’t let watching them win with garbage change you hand selection at all or tilt you if you tilt like I have.
@@rodneyhayes6400 Thanks for the kind words. The game may be too big for comfort. Lots of drug and cock fighting money being tossed around. I'm not sure if I can afford to wait until the variance settles out. A huge opportunity, but dangerous.
i was in a game like this last night. you just have to adjust. 1 adjustment i make is to just raise more with your strongest premium hands like the ones nathan shows in the vid, get fewer callers and isolate the fish. example from yesterday, game was 1/2 blinds, someone straddled to 5 and i was utg with AKo, i decided to fast play, instead of the usual 20 -25 open and get the scenario you described, which had been happening. didnt try to be tricky and limp then 3/4 bet or something, i just cranked it up to 100 straight away knowing i'd catch at least 1 fish calling with worse or complete crap, i did and the flop is a complete whiff for me something like 2-5-9 rainbow iirc. im first to act, i jam anyway, putting fish all in for just over 200, he tanks for a minute and folds. i think he actually hand a hand like Ax or Kx too that didnt really like that flop either. fish rabbits i think the board paired with a Q on the river or something, i show, he says it's good. i had the pocket aces thing happen to me almost exactly like that too a couple months ago. i done the usual open to 25 and get 2 callers, 4 handed f.y.i., flop came K-2-2. i think, cool, cant have that many 2's in his hand in this spot, hopefully he's got the king and i get paid off, we get it in ofc, he turns over A-2o🤢board bricks turn ofc and river is K☹
But i still kinda hate the notion, we always play 3 or 4 people game and if i raise at the start, 99% that they all fold and 90% if i raise post flop, so i dont get the potential small extra bets, except i negate the flush, straight and set possibilities
lol personally I hope very few people listen to this guy. He is putting the winning strategies out there no holds barred. Please do me a favor and don't listen..lol
Your advise has worked again. I just got home from a $25 buy in 30person tournament and won it using All your advise😎 I also folded twice preflop with AK Against a very tight player.
N8 you have been my mentor since I started playing poker 14 months ago. I’ve just played 75k hands. I’ve learned my biggest enemy is my own ego. Have you ever addressed players “ROMANTICIZING” their hands to their own detriment? I’m guilty 100%….
disagree with a handful of these points. If you play 1-2 live, you're never getting called if you play AA obviously and you'll get slapped overplaying 10's and AK. These people are frugal and if they put you on AA and still call, they're pot committed regardless.
It’s all about luck. I was at the casino playing poker last night and I had 10-2 on my hands and I folded. The first three cards dealer flapped was three 10.
Hey, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. The chances of your hands is extremely slim. 98% of the times, that wouldn't have been the flop.
You should try and get into every hand with any pocket pair, assuming it's cheap. I stack people all the time with them having pocket aces and I hit trips on the flop with some low pocket pair. They all in, I call and have 95% chance to win vs. Aces. If I didn't hit trips I just fold. As Tom Dwan would say, I have 2 outs to their stack.

If I were to condense it down to a one liner...it would be...
If it isn't good enough to raise with, then it isn't good enough to call with either.
