- In this video, we learn how to use our Longer5 10 Watt Laser Engraver to engrave on clear acrylic. Please note that I have left in some imperfections that should serve as lessons on how to create better work through your set up process. #longer #ray5 #10w #laser #engraver

I was having the "popping" issue and I reduced power and sped it up and it worked great after some fine tuning! Thanks for the video definitely helped me diagnose my issue! I did focus off the acrylic and not the paper. I'm not sure what the "right" way is in that case. Thanks again for the video!
You could also use steel sheet underneath with grey or darker primer, gives very good results, even when using dithering/half-toning.
Thank you
For a sideline video, this one is really good. I watch a lot of laser video but rarely save them, did keep this one.
Sideline video?
Glass mirrors are much more forgiving. No painting, no mess. 5" work well in the LED bases. Just lase the back of the mirror until the reflective surface is gone. Remember it invert the image, if necessary.
where can I get these mirrors.. I'm new to engraving, and like the idea of using a mirror.
very nice
Thanks
Do you focus the laser on the black construction paper or on the top of the acrylic?
I focused on the paper, but I’m no expert in lasers, so don’t take my process as correct. I was really just showing my experiment.
@@SothpawDesigns I've seen other vids and they focus on the paper or whatever medium is used. If you use paint, focus on the painted side.
I wonder if this would work on sapphire crystal glass on the front of a watch or clear caseback.
I would guess, yes.
"They can be made of any of three materials: 1- plexiglass (a clear, lightweight type of plastic), 2- ordinary glass - like that used for windows, and usually referred to in the watch business as “mineral glass” or 3- synthetic sapphire"
@@jakerazmataz852 oh nice! Can’t wait to try this.
@@robbglow Good luck. Post a pic if it works.
buongiorno ma che tipo di sapone usi per lavare i piatti
Video molto utile ❤
what were your settings?
Can't remember. Should have written them down.
do you let the soap dry before engraving or do it wet? I'm just wondering if the soap was still wet it would cause the paper to get wet too
I didn't wait. I wonder if it would help to let it dry.
Thank you for sharing, I'm actually having a hard time engraving on an acrylic , can you share the setting please?
I still struggle getting the settings fine tuned. Make sure you have a good coating on the back.
hi...I didn't see the engraving parameters or maybe I'm distracted...thank you, take care...
Me neither but I wasn't distracted lol
Been fighting the popping all night with different speeds, have yet to get anywhere with it sadly
I'd love to hear if you figure out how to stop it!
@SothpawDesigns brought the power down to 15 and speed up to 7000 and used acrylic paint seems to have mostly taken care of the problem
What's your settings please
Sorry, I didn't save that file.
Good afternoon
Good evening!
@@SothpawDesignsGood night!
Just wondering why you don't use your Onefinity CNC with a laser?
@@richmarcus7996 I don't do a lot of work with a laser. Just haven't made that investment.
I am curios, i have a longer ray 5, 10 watt, what settings did i use, cause my acrylic same sets that you use, keep popping for me, 😂
what about cutting
I haven't tried cutting acrylic.
