I played this song at my school's talent show, the acoustic version. I sang it and played it with my fellow friend and he was on guitar as well, everybody loved it. After the show, the principal ( Who is against any kind of hard-music being played in the halls or school radio ) said, "That was great, what band made that beautiful piece?" I just replied, "Oh,this amazing metal band named Times of Grace, he was shocked, he once told me. "Metal only makes individuals into mean characters." WUH?!
Howard Jones is a cool guy. But what intrigued me so much all these years ago, when I first heard 'My Last Serenade' was this hauntingly beautiful clean vocals in between the more aggressive parts. Jesse Leach's voice. And here it is again, this mixture of melody, clean vocals, aggressiveness and raw musical power. Hail to one of the the defining heroes of my teenage years!
i want another times of grace album!!!! they can put kse on hiatus.... this is the best album of the year... and not a single album released this year come close to the brilliance "the hymn of a broken man"...
i'm sure about 10,000 of these views are from me replaying this song over and over again and also I'm surprised my mom hasnt came in and slapped me for replaying it with my speakers at like 80% haha.
when you listen to a song over 50 times and all the time that you play it again is like the first it means that the artist/s behind is/are very talented
I've recently discovered this band and I'm very impressed at these guys and so nice to see the original three together again jesse, joel and adam. It's been a hell of a road for the killswitch guys! but we all love u from the bottom of our hearts
@TheTimesofGrace I could care less about arguing genres myself. I just love that you have a beautiful message wrapped up in some rockin' music. Keep it up guys.
damn dude when i first heard killswitch engage back when jesse was in kse, i never would have imagined that adam and jesse would make something this fucking beautiful and badass. and this is a side project???? killer musicians for sure.
every more Adam D vocals and texts, makes me more appreciate this life, as it is, if its not the best version i wanted it, to be - naprzód słowiańska duszo, GO TOG! / GO KSE!
OMG Ive missed this sound for so many years since Jesse left KSE!! It totally takes me back to my early teens where my oundtrack used to be Jesse's music. =')
@ChuloGoatWild Yeah, although it's not an "official music video" as such. It's a promotional video taken from the DVD that comes with the Special Edition release of the album. Every song has one of these made for it. Spectacular visuals set to amazing music!
the album kse never made after alive or just breathing. but even better. its got far more honesty and purety than late kse with howard. adam is an incredible songwriter and musician. and jesses voice just tops it off perfectly.
This band is getting to be one of my most FAVORITES! I am really starting to love this band so damn much. Can't wait for Killswitchs' next album. I've got a feeling it will be real soft tho. Hope it stays pretty heavy.
Its like when they wrote this stuff the hid messages in the songs. Like you will like this more and more and more ! Because every damn time I put the CD on I can't stop listening to it!
For any fans of the original killswitch line up and alive or just breathing & prior on the ferret label. This is the real killswitch sound and the way i hoped they stayed and followed up with on AOJB. This is what revolutionized the genre and made them one fo a kind. Also apparent by jesse david leech's unbelievable lyrics, vocal style and the bands raw recording sound..
There was a cool video of this same style for "Hope Remains", using timelapse. You cant find the video now. I heard it was used using stolen footage that the director didnt have the rights to, but i dont know if thats true.
@babaganush00 Well, as Creeeeeemi said, it's a subgenre of metal...yes, I know it's not just metal...and yea, kind of new age twist to it...but I'm officially labeling it alternative metalcore... :) because to me it's basically a better version of new KSE...which KSE is metalcore...but there are songs like The Forgotten One and others that are different than normal metalcore...hence me adding alternative metalcore...but anyway...excited in going to see them in San Antonio with Underoath!!!! :D
@babaganush00 Times of Grace is not so far away from metal, and Metalcore is also Metal, just another subgenre... But you're kind of right, they are not only metal.
@ErlendRagnaMusic i gotta say just barley breathing is the best but what u like is my 2nd best. after killswitch jesse went and did his own thing to get life together. missed his wife and voice was goin and couldnt party it up with killswitch so he left.
@babaganush00 1st off, best album...as in uniqueness and quality...out of most metal albums within the last couple of years...uh yea, I would say so...its unique AND it's good, and that's from the point of view of someone that ONLY listens to classical music, AND METAL...and yea, even thought it's technically a "project"...I'm going to just consider it a band now...it's going to break out into a band sooner or later
@grobelugner Honestly, even though KSE, i guess I would say now "WAS" my favorite band, their last album COMPARED to their older albums was a little lacking...
@IIPozZeZzedII spirituality would be a better description, people relate god to the bible, so, that words causes issues, but yes, "god". the spirit, creative consciousness, the all, that which animates, the truth, the love, lots of words, but, they are just that.
Throw away the self titled album with Howard and replace it with this. I'd like to call this a separate band but it's Killswitch with Jesse doing Howard style and then they picked up right after alive or just breathing with disarm the descent.

I don't really have much to say guys... Besides thank you. Thank you for being artists.

@ChuloGoatWild Yeah, although it's not an "official music video" as such. It's a promotional video taken from the DVD that comes with the Special Edition release of the album. Every song has one of these made for it. Spectacular visuals set to amazing music!
IMO, This is the best song to be released in some time!!!
Jesse leach and Adam in a duo again!?!?!??!?!?!? I couldn't be more happy right now :D I wish i knew about them sooner i would have seen them in NY
My favorite song of the album
Thanks for coming back Jesse. It's been too long.
the album kse never made after alive or just breathing. but even better. its got far more honesty and purety than late kse with howard. adam is an incredible songwriter and musician. and jesses voice just tops it off perfectly.

👍👏 perfect
@zephenxd147 same here my friend, they have like the old sound of KSE but more melodic and that's awesome.
the chorus riff is cutting edge
In the key of EPIC!
Powerful.

@JerseySkate strength in numbers is an official music video. the others are stock footage from scenes from series on history channel.
It's all Jesus
This channel will come back once that album comes along.
The Empire Shall Fall is also jesse's band, Check em out!
Is this really the video? I wanna vacation at those spots.
There was a cool video of this same style for "Hope Remains", using timelapse. You cant find the video now. I heard it was used using stolen footage that the director didnt have the rights to, but i dont know if thats true.
Jesse Leach = Epicness defined

jesse leach was part of killswitch's best album ever, not surprising Adam hit him up to form this shit! Awesome
@JudasPriest287 They do it for all the songs...except Strength in Numbers..not sure why lol.
@babaganush00 Times of Grace is not so far away from metal, and Metalcore is also Metal, just another subgenre... But you're kind of right, they are not only metal.

"Adam, let's get fucking smashed and go record nature for a music vid"
"Brilliant sir!"
this song is so cool but the video ????
seems like a karaoke style music video
I wish this album had like 10 more tracks on it so I could listen to it longer. No songs on it I don't like
@IIPozZeZzedII song is about u
@grobelugner
Honestly, even though KSE, i guess I would say now "WAS" my favorite band, their last album COMPARED to their older albums was a little lacking...

be nice if the band themselves were in the video...

Personally I like TOG far more than KSE.

The Most Boring Music Video In The World
