- In this episode, Siskel and Ebert review: Porky’s, El Salvador: Another Vietnam, Das Boot, Deathtrap and Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip.
Deathtrap was very underrated
Christopher Reeve is *incredible* in _Deathtrap_ - you completely forget that he was Superman. Underrated movie that was both old fashioned and a decade ahead of it's time.
Completely agree. It was a play first, which accounts for its strength as a psychological thriller.
I love mostly horror films but I've never been particularly scared by them. A movie like Das Boot however can make my skin crawl in fear
Deathtrap was so good i wish I could erase it from my mind so i could watch it again 😅😅😅
Das Boot is a good movie.
I could watch Das Boot again and again
U mean "great"
I love Deathtrap, particularly the ending. It's extremely well acted and entertaining.
Das Boot is perhaps TOO intense! Seeing it once was enough because it is so claustrophobic and hard to sit through but it IS brilliant!
For a long time and maybe still, Porky’s was Canada’s highest-grossing film.
Emphasis on "gross", eh?
when i heard Porky's i thought of the cartoon character. but it turn out to be a film about teen life.
Das boot. The German point of view during world war 2. Just devastating
I actually saw "Great White" at the cinema...it was taken out of release after the company that made Jaws sued....
They totally missed the social commentary of Porkys as it dealt with a guy picking on a Jew at school and how it was understood/resolved.
Sure casts the title in a new light, I'll give you that.
How do you actually critique a Stand up comedy picture? Anyone can answer ??
i never understood deathtrap
I have Madman in 4K.
Porkys was funny to me as a child (basic cable edits most of the dirtiness out) and as a 16 year old I found it pathetic.
I can't believe Gene said how he didn't laugh once through Porky's.
I saw Porky's when it originally came out in the movie theaters. The theater was packed and the audience laughed long, hard, and very frequently throughout the whole movie. It was a real crowd pleaser.
The one scene that got the most, and biggest laughs in the entire movie, the Principal's office scene.

PORKY's is NOT funny.
it was a lot funnier when I was 15.....watched it a few years ago and it seemed a little dated...
I never could make it through Porky’s as a kid. Even that principal office scene doesn’t do much for me.
@@CaptainSpalding72 YES it is.
I mean. People laugh long, hard. Frequently during Marvel films too. Doesn’t mean they’re good.
11:24 Das Boot
Calling people peasants is not cool
They're called campesinos in their own country. Translation: peasants. But I'll agree that it has different impact in English.
@@RobMacKendrick Don't rule out the possibility that op doesn't know "peasant" is not a insult.
