Mamluk is an exotic elixer that will transport you to another place and time. Magnificently blended, it imparts vibes of mystery and far off lands. Think the Maltese Falcon. For inexpereienced western noses, it will take a little getting used to. But this oud-honey-jasmine-vanilla concoction will forever remain one of my favourite fragrances. Frankly between Mamluk and Coromandel, my fragrance needs are met. I might eventually add something tropical for summer months, but that will be it for me.
On my Oud journey, I do like Kilian Incense Oud, Tauer L’Oudh, ATH Oud, curious abt Nishane Musiqa Oud. With these styles, what other top 10 ouds do you recommend for me to try
I got a decant of this from scentsplit and it smells horrible. Smells like urine and armpits to me. I’m assuming this is what people mean when they say animalic 🥴 you’re description is so different I’m wondering if I was given the wrong fragrance 🤔
Well Musk has in some cases a urinous scent and the closest thing to armpits is maybe civet which you don’t get here at all. I have never ordered from them and I will say this there are some that send watered down splits. This happened to a friend of mine who ordered Overture man which was a clear color versus the obvious orange. In this one the Honey combo and Jasmine reigns so if u missed that yes I would wonder.
I am getting the same as you,an urine like smell.And my sample is legit since I got it directly from Xerjoff Universe with my purchase of Alexandria II Perfume Extract.I think is the combination of the jazmine and the honey.I am really struggling with Mamluk but I appreciate how good and different of a composition it is.

I find Mamluk has similarities to Indochine and Kemi Jabir. I love all 3. They all smell fruity to me. I'll have to revisit it.
