The hammer-on system never reliably worked. It was completely overhauled in the second game because of how bad it was. Also, the song IS on the disc. You just need a third party cheating device to access it.
djhero0071 the hammer ons in this game require you to hold the button before the Hammer on before actually pressing the button. It’s extremely difficult and makes songs like this almost impossible without strumming over every note

Andrew Buch added Trippolette at the last minute without approval from Harmonix and so the song was removed from being played during regular gameplay. (I think Buch was also fired after that.) For Graveyard Shift I’m not too sure, though. Maybe it was made by one of the Harmonix employees and never received official metadata to have the song as an actual bonus song? That could be why the artist is labeled “unknown”.

I used to play it on RB2 all the time because it was so fun. Just got GH1 yesterday, and boy, it kindve sucks having to strum every single note.
There were two secret songs hidden on the GH1 disc that you normally cannot access. With the use of cheat devices (I used Action Replay Max), you can play these songs that weren't meant to be in the game.
