I love the language and it is so fascinating, but most Finnish people are fluent in English just like the Scandinavians. But it takes a lot more effort for them to learn it as children because their language is nothing like anything else in this world! If there are any adults in Finland that can’t grasp the English language, I completely understand!
Actually, most Finn's will tell you how it's wasn't that hard since the grownup surrounded by English from the day they are born since they do not dub movies etc. Rather they subtitle them. And besides, it's easy for children to pick up languages when they are young. Further, English is EASY to get the basics in order to speak, where as for those learning Finnish 8ts the other way around i.e getting of the ground is hard and it gets easier once you have the basics mastered. Which is the opposite of English as complex levels. I certainly wish I had learned finnish from birth as opposed to now as an adult living in Finland and studying nursing 😭. My Finnish partner speaks English far better than some who grew up with English as their mother tongue - the education system here is incredible (unless you have dislexia and are trying to learn Finnish 😅).
@@susitytto7483 there are a lot of people who love this language even here in Russia. It sounds very beautiful, and when you hear the songs of Viikate or Tarja Turunen, you truly understand how wonderful and musical it is. I am learning Finnish as in 3 years I'll have complete bachelor degree, and actually want to get master degree in Finland, so that's my purpose. I don't know how you feel about foreigners, especially Russians, cause some of us can be pretty annoying (sorry for that). But I have traveled to many countries from Japan and South Korea to Mexico and the USA, and if heaven exists on Earth, for me it's 100% sure good old Finland.
Listen to it in the background while doing other stuff, it isn't magic listen to it while actually asleep. This is good easy revision, to listen to a few phrases before bed or while doing chores. It just makes basic listening skills better, helps you remember and recgonise some words faster...
I believe in the concept of listening to a language while you sleep, but the voices would definitely keep me awake. Can’t you find more soothing voices? Preferably women’s voices?
He intentado aprender Finlandés con diferentes métodos y para mí este es de los mejores, por no decir el mejor (siempre y cuando tengas algo de noción de su gramática). . kiiiiitos.
Kiitos, this has been the easiest and most comprehensive material I have found so far. Is there any way to get these sentences in a Word or Pdf to print? It would help me a lot to go over it often.
kiitos. good video, but with flaws. I know neither it's good nor possible to translate 1:1, but I would stick as close as possible. E.g. you translate "What's your nationality" to "Mistä maasta olet kotoisin", which means "from which country are you".
Sähköposti yeah a funny word but not as long as the longest word in finnish ”lentoturbiiniapumekaanikkoaliupseerikokelasoppilas” yeah there’s some challenge for you 🤣🤣🤣-finnish person
Damn! Yet again I find familiar words in Finnish, which is from a different language group, yet our nation is made of amalgamation of Baltic and Finno-Ugric tribes, so there are borrowed Finno-Ugric words in Latvian, like "maksaa" is this video - Latvian "maksā" - "it costs" or "he/she/them are paying", or "do pay!" (depends on context). Or "laiva", which in Finnish means "a ship" (if one believes automatic translation), while in Latvian it means "a boat". But other than that, Finnish, Estonian, Saami and Livonian are completely alien to me, as they are built differently, with different logic and vocabulary.
@@cinderellaandstepsisters I'm always seeing similarities as well, makes one wonder if the babble story has some merit (no I'm not some religious nut!)

Yes, sleeping is the best way to learn Finnish. Because Finns sleep half a year during their long winters. They walk sleeping, talk sleeping and even hock sleeping. And if you can learn sleeping you are a real Finn! Hey, I'm kidding! Finnish is a wonderful language and some Finns stay awake and sober.
