Great review! Loved it, girls, so precise and illuminating. I was a bit lost at many points on the book so you helped out a lot. Now, I was thinking that dad Sorrengail was looking for a cure for her bone condition and he traded some of her future magic as a tribute to Dunne gods. That is what I got out of it.
you guys make Xaden look like a such an evil dude I'm shocked at your assessment or lack of it...i respect your opinion but not agree with ur take on Xaden being venin...as if him turning venin directly put him in evil category or a red flag / controlling towards violet(pls tell me in which scene u got that idea)...He intentionally pulled from ground in TWO instances 1. him sensing violet dying through bond and his at his limit at the end of iron flame...2. Sgaeyl was about to get killed by sage. Both times its for LOVE. He turned venin for love and that made him not loose all of his soul. even at the end, he was able preserve some part of himself cuz of violet...he never hurt violet or others around him. He gave Violet political power but its only possible by marriage. I strongly think in that 12hrs they discuss and decided on it...he let her choose and she chose this path..made Imogen erase her memories so one can access to it.
@@MyLife-cj8pu totally fair, I don’t think he’s an evil dude, but do think the relationship between the two is a little toxic, as when they are near each other they forget the priorities, and put each other first, instead of the good of the continent. Probably why we loved Violet in leadership roles, as she became her own person. Totally agree the marriage part was necessary for her to be a duchess, not happy that’s how she comes into power, but I understand that’s the path Rebecca chose. Thank you for watching 😊
I honestly think that it’s Bodhi who turned venin. There is this moment at the end of Imogen’s POV where the venin are overtaking the city and draining it and the wards are not up yet. Her and Garric run out to fight and that’s what it says: “Bodhi is on his hands and knees across the town square, retching.” I think he knew how bad the situation was especially with Cuir being injured and he felt hopeless he cannot counter them and so he channelled to get more power to fight. I might be completely off with this, but the second I read he had his hands on the ground I was like well fuck he’s turning. Also I think the marriage happened in the temple in Aretia and Garric took the 6 eggs to Dunne’s isle because they wanted eggs in exchange for an army.
@@Katie-ui7ff holy crap I totally missed that!! The more I think about it, it has to be Bodhi, since Xaden would be forced to transfer Tyrrendor over to Violet 😱🤯
Exactly, like for me it is the only acceptable reason for him to even suggest marriage, which in any other case is just ludicrous imo. I really don’t want it to be Bodhi though, because I like him! 😅
Andarna leaving made me sob. And her payoff on her badassery isn’t an evil husband , her payoff is Xaden leaving his kingdom in the hands of the only other person her trusts and use her better judgement to win this war while giving her the title to get it done without any push back. He knows she can protect Tyrrendor and fight any battle… all the title does is make everyone else take her seriously and give her the power she needs to get it done. …. Not to mention… they actually do love each other and if venin wasn’t plaguing their relationship it would be the next natural progression for their relationship. I’m pretty sure Violet agrees to the marriage and decided she needed to forget so she couldn’t track Xaden when he left. If Bodhi or Garrick are venin!!!😮
yes the more i think about it, that's the reason for the marriage, she's the only person to keep Tyrrendor safe! I'm still not okay about Andarna leaving and NEED to know what she learned while she was away and how did she get back so quickly? did she manipulate time?
I actually really liked Onyx Storm! I think it ties for me with Fourth Wing. I preferred the romance in Fourth Wing but I absolutely loved the world building in this one and think that Rebecca did a great job at doing it without being super info dumpy and it really shows her growth as a fantasy author
@@pjsandpages92 I think that’s where she shined with onyx Storm too, the world building and the expansion of the lore in Onyx Storm was amazing! And I love seeing a confident violet im action! I agree with with you I preferred the romance in Fourth Wing, so now more invested on the war aspect ha!

@@paulamarrodan2261 Hopefully we’ll get some clear answers on the next book!
And so glad you enjoyed the episodes 🥰
YESSS I THOUGHT THE SAME! Bohdi or Garrick I think turned 😭
@@Franthenanny the marriage makes wayyy more sense in Bodhi turned right?

I thought that the priestesses said they owed Xaden a favor after their temple was saved. So I imagine that they performed this marriage ceremony.
