@@SomeOrangeCat No they aren't. SegaSammy is the Trading Handle for SEGA Group Corporation. They've been in talks with Paramount Global the past 14 months over a ISO deal.
@@segaunited3855 you know Paramount pictures was part of the Gulf and Western companies, which Sega was a part of also, as an American company before the Atari crash.
Sega started the VR route back in the 90s. I think it’s time for them to come back. Create a new system. And not just work on Sonic but also other innovative games they created like Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shenmue, Outrun, Daytona USA, virtua fighter etc.
I agree! I feel they already have the IP to create Sega Exclusives like Sonic, Bayonetta and even another Shenmue, that would hopefully do better than 3! The have the name recognition and have the tools to create something special, I truly believe it.
@@hassyverse I agree. I feel exactly the same way! I would love to see another Bayonetta and Shenmue game. They even have access to the Persona games. They can capitalize off that. Even make a new Virtua Fighter but going back to the polygon models they were known for. A Jet Set Radio. So much opportunities. Imagine a Sega console which is a computer/VR/console hybrid with newly released games. Let's call it the Sega Super since the new "Sega Super Game" is in the works. Sega Super's Exclusives: Sonic The Hedgehog Out Run Sega Daytona USA Sega Rally Championship Panzer Dragoon Phantasy Star Virtua Fighter Gunstar Heroes Jet Set Radio Shenmue Virtua Racing NIGHTS into Dreams Yakuza Streets of Rage Shining Force Skies of Arcadia Billy Hatcher Space Channel 5 Valk. Chronicles Bayonetta Persona Shinobi All of those titles can be reworked and redesigned to give other franchises a run for their money. A new Space Channel 5 has potential to be better than Let's Dance or Dance Dance Revolution. Imagine if Crazy Taxi plays like GTA now. You can freeroam around the cities. Pick people up. Do missions. Get into mayhem, trouble and such. Or a new Shinobi game that plays like Sifu. A Steets of Rage game that can play like Sifu as well, or like the TMNT 2003 games. With Co-op style. Billy Hatcher is the answer to Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's story, or any Yoshi game. Panzer Dragoon and Phantasy Star can compete with Zelda or Final Fantasy. They have the properties to compete, just not using them correctly. So many opportunities, man.
@@TheDayd111returns Square-Enix is on all platforms Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S | Xbox Series X. So Final Final Fantasy Should be on SEGA Consoles if they made one.
@TheDayd111returns They won't be able to keep Bayonetta exclusive to their console cause the only reason the series exist was cause Nintendo is funding it. If they made Bayonetta exclusive to their own console then they lose tie with Nintendo and they'll have to fund the Bayonetta game on their own which I doubt they could handle it. It's the same deal with Shenmue as well, the game is backed by Kickstarter and promoted by Sony, without Sony backinng it, the Sega will end up funding the game on their own and that's a risky profit loss if the game flopped.
You would not, trust me. You’d be missing out on way too many games. I love Saga too, but they can’t hold a candle to Sony in the past present or the future.
I would buy a new console by them like how I bought their retro mini consoles. I know those were handled by M2, but they are really good quality. If Sega can get a good team to develop a new console, it could work. Add that to Sonic finally getting back on his feet again. You need an exclusive, right? A big new 3D Sonic game would be perfect for that. Imagine going to a WalMart and buying a new Sega console with the hot new Sonic game packed with it? DUDE.
It's the technology. SEGA is still waiting for the technology to catch up. The PS5 and the Xbox Series X only have at best half what SEGA needs for a new console.
It would be a dream come true if Sega makes another console again, I remember the Sega Dreamcast came out in North America and always wanted a Dreamcast, Around 12 years after it launched, I got me a Sega Dreamcast, and I loved it and still love it to this day. I'm proud to say that the SEga Dreamcast is my favorite Sega console of all time! Great video man!
You're correct. Sega should come to market with a new console. However, it needs to stand out in some way. I would argue that a less powerful, less price intensive product would be the way to go. IF they used custom chips that ran unreal 4 with dlss and other plusses , they theoretically could put themselves in a position where you get good looking games with a much discounted console price point. A home console with a 249.99 price tag would get the attention of a very stressed consumer base. Now, if we take something like that and combine with reimagined versions of everything from Panzer Dragoon to Shinobi and everything in between, I would hope you would have a winner. Now, it doesn't need to be like the Switch, it does however need to be a home console playing on nostalgia. Perhaps cartridge based and perhaps having a familiar name that also indicates a move forward. Whether that be a play on the Genesis name like a Genesis Beyond, Genesis Next, or what have you.
This video doesn't have nearly enough views. Excellent rundown about why Sega® should produce a new innovative console for this era. I admire your initiative on getting SEGA® to produce a new console. You effectively articulated what most of us diehard Sega® fans feel and truly want. I'm not alone in saying that many of us feel short changed by SEGA® with their premature unprecedented withdrawal from the competitive console market.
Thank you so much! I really love the Dreamcast and SEGA has been such an innovator. I just feel like I have to do my part to make it known that we need a new SEGA console!
I love Sega and the Dreamcast was my favorite system they produced, but the Genesis is always going to be my childhood. I wish Sega would come back and destroy Nintendo!
This video is very impressive. Great job. Thankyou for making it. I had great pleasure watching it in its entirety. I also pray to the pixel gods for sega to take the reigns again and give us what we need. Please Sega make a comeback!
I'm pretty sure if Sega try to get back into the gaming market, the resulting loss of money will mean we will never see Sega again. They made terrible decisions back in the day, they still make bad decisions now. Just let it go dude, its never gonna happen.
As much as how cool it would be they won’t because Sonic Frontiers for example is doing so well because of it’s availability on many different consoles. If it was only on a Sega console it would do worse because of less wide availability and people wouldn’t be willing to shell out enough money to buy a whole new console just for Sonic. It’s just not financially feasible sadly. It would be like EA or Ubisoft making a console.
Hardware is a losing battle for Sega against huge corporations Sony and Microsoft. The only way Sega could get back in the hardware business would be to license a design to 3rd party companies to produce. They would need big name companies with deep pockets onboard, like Apple or someone like that.
The 6th generation of consoles had a great start for Sega as a 3rd party. But that may have been due to most of those games being already made for Dreamcast but just got passed over to Gamecube, XBOX, and PS2. Even the GBA got a few Sega gems despite THQ messing up most of them.

@@hassyverse Tbh. If It wasn't for Sony and Microsoft. SEGA would still exist. I wish there was a timeline were only Nintendo, Sega and Atari succeded. Being SEGA a fusion between PlayStation and Xbox with all of their exclusives, Nintendo being Nintendo, and Atari being like a retro Arcade machines producer, like for homes and all of that (like legal Arcade machines that aren't emulators).
I honestly don't think Sega is ready to be a console company again yet. I've been saying lately that a nice halfway point is for them to release gaming laptops and PCs. Would be kind of cool to have a Sega brand gaming laptop and it would help them build their brand in terms of hardware.
@6:15 incredibly simple yet true. Why oh why can Nintendo survive with continued milking of their IPs yet SEGA cannot? Duh! If SEGA created a SWITCH Device that has exclusive IPs plus other major games? I would gladly give up my $$$. Imagine a SWITCH that can easily play Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games. Salivating.
Actually this is the perfect time for Sega to make a console. In 2002 Sega if America tried to support both the Dreamcast AND tiltes on other consoles. They announced their first Quad-system title, NFL 2K2, for Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Xbox, and Game Cube. Microsoft and Sony allowed it to happen. But Nintendo put their foot down. Apparently, you can support other consoles, like third parties do. You just can't own that console you support. Flash forward to 2020, Atari makes a new system called The VCS 800. It's a Linux device with its own OS. Atari also makes games for the Switch. If Atari can both support themselves and other systems (including, strangely enough, that vaporware known as Intellivision Amico) the Sega should be able to support its own new system as well as Switch, Xbox Series. And PS5, (and VCS 800). In the second generation, Atari, Coleco. And Mattel all had each others hands in each others ecosystems. Maybe it's time for Sega to think like the pre-crash American company they were and pull an Atarisoft.
There are Sega theme skin for the Switch and Sega had recently partner with other dev to release entry or remastered old IPs of theirs for modern consoles such as The House of the Dead remake, Street of Rage 4, The Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection, Sonic Mania and Origins, Samba de Amigo, Panzer Dragoon remake, Valkyria Chronicles 1 & 4, some of the Sega Ages games, Yakuza games, Toejam and Earl, Sakura Wars, and Alex Kidd.
It would be hard for anybody to compete with Sony and Microsoft, BUT Nintendo has no competition that makes them shake in their boots. Focusing on a handheld, however, would limit graphics quality and people would wish it was on more powerful hardware. Sega's strong point for decades has been their games, so sticking with multi-platform games sounds like the winning option, though developing for just one system is beneficial. On the other hand, Playstation and Xbox have been quite stagnant on new ideas, and Nintendo has no competition that scares them, so if Sega has a truly innovative idea, they're in a good position to compete, with their hardware experience and active game library. Imagine the exclusives!
The problem sega always had until recently was that they kept getting in their own way even after they stopped making consoles. That and being too stubborn to learn from their own mistakes. If you were to preach this before 2020 I’d have told you there’s no way that would work. However things have changed now, now they do seem open to addressing mistakes and learning from them. They also seemed to have found their spark for gaming again. If they were to release a new console now I think it would really work.
I got you bro. I did just that. Not just a new console but, a new handheld and a new Arcade system. If SEGA listened to me, I'd be the one to bring all that back. I have been doing this for years now. Btw, I know I am a rando here in your comments and it's hard to believe me, I know. All I can say is, Talk to me and find out.
I was just in Anaheim a few weeks back, I should have stopped by Irvine 😂 I wish Sega of Japan wasn't so damn stubborn or else Sega would still be a major player in the console wars. Although I don't see them ever doing a new console, I just wish they would bring back classic franchises like Golden Axe and Shinobi.
Everyone always says it was a mistake to not have a true Sonic title on the Saturn, but I wish more companies would follow that example. Aren't you sick of Mario yet? And Star Wars? And Star Trek? And Spiderman? etc. Can we come up with some new ideas... new characters... new stories... please? It's like we're stuck in the past. One of the main reasons I'm a huge Saturn fan is because Sega took chances, and came up with new games.
If Sega were to ever make another console I would buy it immediately, my childhood was Sega. But sadly the time has passed for them, it will never happen 😭
What i want from SEGA is Saturn mini. As for a new console, there is no chance. The old Sega japan and Sega america that was compromised of multiple studios that could support a system with software no longer exist. Sega was severely downscaled. Also, to make a modern console means having to build a network infrastructure which requires a huge investment. So, old Sega is dead. I have learned to accept it. But there are ways to revive beloved game series. I would love to see more revivals.
I want a Sega Saturn mini so bad!! So many exclusive gems locked to the hardware! I think Sega is leaving money on the table not dipping into thier back catalog for Saturn.
This was great. I will write a letter too! Only Sega can save us from the stalemate in consoles now...and I do mean 'stale'. Don't get me wrong, I love Atari (yeah, I'm that old) and NES, PS2 and 3 but the Genesis was a game-changer as was the Dreamcast. Nothing like them. Thanks for saying out loud what I've been thinking for a long time!
@@hassyverse So far, nothing has happened. I think I'll pull a "Shawshank" and send a letter every week til they get sick of hearing from me! There's definitely a demand, they have to realize that. I didn't even think much about how badly I would like to be excited for a new console again until watching your video...Let's make it happen!!
You reminded me just how many consoles Sega pumped out...I was a massive Megadrive (Genesis) fan and never fell in love with the SNES. I bought a Saturn at the time and still have it (and my MD) to this day. Never had a Dreamcast but have played on it when going to a Comic Con or similar, but I agree with you - time for Sega to make a grand re-entry into the market. I wish an OutRun III could be made too, but as PS4 owner I was told Driveclub is the closest. I like the PS4 a lot, but truly loved my Megadrive. Thank you for the wonderful content.
SEGA can still come back and make a new console. Alot of time has gone by since the Dreamcast but that doesn't mean it has to be over. The Atari company is releasing the Atari 2600+......it will be released next month. This is an actually console that will play classic 2600 and 7800 games. This is NOT a flashback system with games installed but literally a new console made by the Atari Company. They are also going to be releasing brand new Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 games. The pre-order sales for the Atari 2600+ have been very good. People miss the old console companies. Atari interest is at an all time high and SEGA can do the same.....if they want to.
it's a LOT of money to do that. If there was a merge between sega and another company, this could be more realistic. That being said, if for whatever reason, it came to be, I'd be a proud supporter of sega hardware.
It would be financially tough, but they are a successful company still and a big name. Even if they tried to crowdfund for extra support, people would show up!
You bring the arcade experience home--not by building yet another mega-console--but by bringing the physical arcade standup home loaded to the gunholes with perfect arcade ports. Hitachi made the SH-5, a 64-bit RISC monster that was capable of playing the code from the Dreamcast, Saturn, and even the 32X, and was powerful enough to emulate the older systems. There's no reason why an arcade cabinet can't be made for the home or even restaurants and movie theaters for no more than the price of a PS5/Xbox.
Heard anything back from SEGA yet? Cool video and I share your sentiments about SEGA re-entering the hardware market. Let’s hope someone of seniority reads your letter and takes note 🙂
Well, from the chart at about 2:51 the major console releases and add-ons were usually about three years apart, just with some new revisions or combo units in between, so mostly not too bad. Except where they released the 32X so close to the Saturn's release, that was a big snafu.
sega is not even longer making good games. it's another company who's just looking after profits. secondly, they made console and game because of their arcade cabinet success, and arcade is no longer a thing anymore. arcade racing cabinets in 2023 includes codemaster games. they made the cabinet, and let another "good enough" company make the game for them. the cabinet is called sega grid deluxe cabinet.
The sega we know died in 2004. they down sized a few years ago and their software is hit or miss now a days give us about 3 high quality sonic games in a row in then maybe I would buy a new sega system
Nostalgia bias is a powerful thing. I adored Sega and their ips, they have 0 chance of competing in the modern console market though. The vast majority of their popular ips are produced for other consoles. Almost all of the Sega team we grew up on are no longer working for them, and Sega of Japan is still the boss. They're a shell of their former self as a company. Sega is never getting back into the console market sadly.
Sadly they won’t come back with there already being 3 major competitors. I mean look what happened to the Atari VCS, they are releasing its games on other consoles.
For a Dreamcast 2, I would have all of their past games online either in a Game Pass type of service or as digital downloads. Maybe have their arcade games as the service and pay for online multiplayer and have the console titles released as downloads. That could work.
sega shouldn't, no yet anyways, 4 major home consoles would cause far too much saturation. as much as i would like to see them have another shot, someone has to go first.
How about using Dragon Triangle and preventing Sega CD,Sega 32X,Sega Dreamcast from happening(at least delaying it for 2 years back then)because it’s one of ways to time travel?
I heard some people in South Africa are attempting to reach out to Sega about potentially using their prototype console to be the next Sega system. It's been a few years since they sent Sega their prototype console idea, not sure what Sega did to that though. I believe that console was codename the Spartan, it was to be a prototype console pitch to Sega so they could return to the hardware market with a new console with their IPs and games and was to be an open source console compatible with RetroArch too perhaps. Hadn't heard anything from both parties since.
I think, if the "Microsoft Buying Sega" rumour really become true, (which is a possibility, idk how likely though, but i think it's definetly possible). Sega would tecnically come back to the home console market. though not the way i think you would want, right?
@@hassyverse I'm not sure if sega capable to do strong hardware that would actually make sucess nowadays (compared to playstation or xbox), i think they could do great subscripcion serivces, but i also don't know if sega would be able to do better than gamepass, being owned by a first party company and constantly releasing games to a console to stablish the console library would be good for sega, and having more sega games with more frequency would be good for fans. i am not sure if sega could do even an "alternative" take on consoles, like the switch, being as sucessful as the switch or even steam deck are. so, i don't know if it's a disservice, can you tell me more about why you think it's a disservice?
TBH as a lifelong Sega fan the reasons you want Sega to make a console is exactly why they should never make a console again. They'll go broke. They were literally 10 years ahead of everyone. You mentioned Dreamcast online as being the first, nope it was Saturn with Netlink. Gamepass is basically Sega Channel 30 years later. So yes everything like analog sticks, online gaming, they were doing shutter lens 3-d in the 80's . Of course optical media and on and on but they were always way too early. Lastly I wanted to mention one thing you said about JRPGs on Dreamcast but said the Saturn didn't have a good library. You really should look at the Saturn library again and you'll find it's full of JRPGS some of which you may like. Outside of arcades they really only had one smash hit home console and quickly screwed it up shortly after. They're much better off now just being a software company.
Thanks I will definitely check that out, but you make a great point. They have always been ahead of the curve, but I feel in this day and age, innovation would work much more to their advantage, don't you think?
@@hassyverse I personally think Sega should just do few simple things. I think M2 is underutilized. They should start work on stuff like Panzer Saga and Burning Rangers. That's what fans want. The second is Sega has always underestimated the number of fans in the US. So all the cool stuff is Japan only and they need to stop doing that. It's not like all we know about is Sonic. They could also work on hardware but something that isn't available. Like light guns for a current system with their arcade shooters. Oh yeah and HotD is a mess of a series, they need to release Scarlet Dawn and get the series on a single console.
I lost interest in new games, to me game play is more important than graphics. It just feels like games are created to be pretty not playable. At the moment I play retro games more than anything I don’t think I’ll be buying a new console for the same reason just don’t like the new ones but if Sega creates a new console I’ll buy it.
I have been going through the Sega CD library yesterday, they actually made a bunch of good ones that are still 2D but have good graphics. Shmups mostly. Fighting games too. If you cut out the expensive FMV games, it could have worked as a souped up Sega Genesis. You wouldn't even need the 32X. Save the 3D stuff on 32X for the Sega Saturn instead and actually have a good launch lineup for the Saturn. Dreamcast did just fine in the US. One of the best launches for one of the best consoles with one of the best game libraries of all time. Saturn also could have used more ports of RPGs or just arcade games if they are easier to port. Fighters, beat em ups, and shmups. Sidescrolling 2D games. All beautiful games that take full advantage of the hardware and surpass the PlayStation ports of them.
Wouldn't say the Saturn lacked any notable games. Similar lineup to PS but with added Sega arcade conversions to compete with PS and Namco. Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop, Daytona, House of the Dead etc. All mirrored over on PS. Tomb Raider, Wipeout, Alien Trilogy, Resident Evil. Again all mirrored on the PS. Sega have the IP but not the money or tech staff anymore at the moment
I think the problem was that they were sitting on an even greater library of games that came out in Japan and didn't bring most of them here. Seriously only 200 some games came out in the west while Japan got over a thousand.
@@The_Soulbutcher The majority of the big hitters were available. 258 is a quoted figure in the US I have seen online. Doesn't take into account European games. The total sales hardware estimate that's been quoted is anything between 9.5 mil to 17 mil worldwide. Wouldn't want to speculate on exact record keeping
@@robsmall6466 in my opinion the better games came out in Japan. They got Bulk Slash, Policenauts, dozens of more fighting games and jrpgs that I would be interested in. I feel like they released more games I prefer in the U.S. only after they announced they would discontinue the console and by doing so only released a very limited quantity of games like Panzer Dragoon Saga, Burning Ranger, and House of the Dead.
@@The_Soulbutcher Just thinking of the average consumer. You wanted Doom. You had Doom. You wanted Quake and Duke Nukem. You got both. Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. The first two Wipeout games. Fifa for football fans. Anything Namco could do Sega could match. The big mistake was no Sonic ( at least in a main game sense ). Sonic 3D, Sonic Jam, Sonic R but Sonic Extreme should of been finished or at least Sonic 4 should of been developed in 2D. Shinobi was done but not SOR. Golden Axe but a port of a 1 v 1 fighting game and not a part 4. Plenty of opportunities went begging and of course third parties changing their allegiance ( Core with Tomb Raider for example ) didn't help either
06:09 I wouldn't say Sony is pushing out "mediocre" games. (And yes, i'm a 90's gamer as well!) I personally had the SEGA MasterSystem, (every Nintendo console except the NES/WII.) And i even had a Commodore 64 at one point in my younger life. So i know my fair bit of gaming. Now saying XBOX is pushing out mediocre games, i can understand that. Except for a couple of cool games like CupHead, Super lucky's tale. And sure, They have their "AAA" games like Halo, Gears & Forza. (Even though i think Forza is the best out of those, but that's personal.) I think Sony has some solid AAA games. Ratchet & Clank, Bloodborne, Demons Soul's, Ghost Of Tsushima, Uncharted, The Last Of Us, God Of War, Gran Turismo, Horizon: Zero Dawn & Forbidden West, (and lots more!) I mean, i wouldn't call these mediocre games but to each their own i guess. And they are all first party games as well. NOT THIRD PARTY! To be clear though, i do agree with everything else said in this video. I loved Nintendo and i loved my SEGA MasterSystem as well. Games like Mickey: Castle Of Illusion for example, or Asterix & Obelix, which in those times, were actually good A&O games, i really enjoyed! Of course Sonic 1 & 2 were great, i really loved those and i really enjoyed playing "Summer games." Especially listening to all the anthem songs of all the different countries was something i enjoyed! 😅
Sega will not produce a new console unless the chip shortage is no longer a thing plus they seem to be content by just making their IPS available in other systems.
As much as we all want a new Sega console, the problem is that even if they find crazy huge funding required for a new gen console manufacturing and actually make it, it's still a substantial risk in terms of whether or not developers will support it with games and users will buy enough of it. And if they don't, love very easily turns to hate - exactly what happened to Saturn that was discontinued too quickly and had too few games. And people think, I trusted in Sega and spent my hard earned money on their new console and now it's obsolete, but I could have spent it on PlayStation and I'd be golden playing new releases. The only thing that can make Sega do new console is a giant investment, that's it.
They wouldn't need to compete, its about finding their niche, and like Nintendo has done, Sega could so that as well. There are plenty of people who buy a Nintendo and Sega console, just need a justified reason to.
Sega never made money with their hardware, only with software. That’s probably why they are sitting comfy right now while they can release their games on all platforms.
If Sega kept making consoles I think the quality of their games would be more than 10 times better than they are on Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft consoles. Not because those consoles are in any way bad or holding Sega back, but because Sega started cutting corners extra hard on their game budgets ever since they went 3rd-party and it seems like they never stopped heavily cutting corners even 20 years later as we find that as little as 20% of Sonic Team's total dev count have contributed to games like Sonic Forces and Sonic Frontiers (which to me explains the insanely poor physics in these games and their graphical inferiority to past titles like Unleashed and Generations). If they still had to support their own hardware, they'd still need to be putting their absolute best efforts into their games if they hope to convince consumers to choose their console over Nintendo'/Sony's/Microsoft's.
as much as I think it's unlikely Sega will go back to making consoles after all these years (especially because they'd probably need a lot of third-party support as well to make a successful console), honestly I think it'd be cool if they did come back successfully and brought some fresh air into the video game industry if they did come back and their new console allowed to play multiplayer without needing a subscription, I think that could already heat things up if they could get enough good multiplayer games on it
I would love that, my first own Console was the Sega Mega Drive. But sadly, at this point, they are better off with being 3rd Party. Or maybe team up with Nintendo exclusively. Sega is already really lucky having partnered with Atlus.
@@hassyverse They would not be able to release Multiplatform Titles anymore and go bankrupt in no time. They quit the Dreamcast, their best console that was revolutionary at the time. Nintendo already did the one thing that makes them survive - releasing something totally different than Sony and Microsoft. What could Sega do?
I’d love to see it because I was through and through a Sega kid! But…it’s never going to happen 😂 I know it sucks but they are honestly not even close to being the same company we all loved in the 80s/90s anyway.
Sega could do it! They need to give it one more attempt and they Very well could strike gold! Would Love to see them surpass Nintendo. They could come up with a unique innovative console with a one of a kind revolutionary Sonic game and they could do it. They should remarket the original Sega Genesis and make games for it also. Sega could make a new version with HDMI for those who would want to play on modern tvs and a original av input for those who would like to play on original TV. Sega give it another attempt!
As much as i would absolutely love this, ive made peace with the fact that SEGA may never make another video game console again in the company's or any of our timelines. Even if they did make consoles again, what would really change? Everything new and fresh that SEGA did in the past is pretty much commonplace in today's gaming ecosystem.
Sure but the consoles were creative and support the games, hardware is just as important as software, even if theirs was not as financially as successful
well i know everyone don't like the new sonic game think they are bad but for me i love the new sonic games they wasn't bad to me they was great games to me the only sonic game i didn't like is sonic chronicles dark brotherhood and that's not all i want to sayit doesn't matter to me if video game console hardware has dvd player or not and i also think it doesn't matter to me if video game hardware has alot of games or don't have alot of games only have little bit of games and it doesn't matter to me if a video game hardware does well popular or don't do well unpopular because i hate populairty and i don't care about populairty at all ithink populairty is overrated in my difference honest unpopular opinion and i'm only a fan of sega and atari the sega saturn and sega dreamcast is not a failure to me it was amazing the best successful system to me in my book in my eyes but i respect everyone's difference opinions and point of view truth take on things i just want to share my unpopular point of view truth take believes as well by thinking for myself i would love to see sega make a comeback with hardware market so badly
I love Saga and have owned all their consoles. And still own most. However, we definitely do not need a fourth console on the market. Saga would stand zero chance of competing, they’re not stupid. They know this. There’s no big money in hardware, money is in the software. Doing what they’re already doing they will be far more profitable and without financial loss. As much as I would love to see another Saga console myself, it just doesn’t make sense for them. They have already all the hardware they could ever want releasing their software on every platform. That is where the money is.
For the record Sega will never make another console for the simple fact is that the financial suicide the whole entire company, They have to look at their home market does their Home market meeting in Japan have room for another consult? The answer is no they're better off being a third-party because think about it if they were to make another console Yakuza would go to that console and not PlayStation And I don't think anybody would buy a console just for Yakuza It would be nice to say to make another console but the landscape is just not there.
I feel the appetite is there, sonic is nearly as popular as Mario. If not just Yakuza, but Bayonetta and say Sonic Frontiers was only available on a Sega based console, many people would buy that just for that game. Especially if they went a console route like the switch. I think there is potential for a console they have to trust their product and IP.
I would like to see a new console from Sega. I mean it would be awesome.🤩
It would be the best moment in gaming history!
@@hassyverse especially to people like me who never got an experience with a sega home console but loves their games. I think sonic adventure 1/2 are the best games every created
Sega Sammy is a holdings company. They have no interest in the risk involved in getting back into the console market.
This wasn't just any letter, this was a love letter of the potential SEGA could truly come to if they tried making a new console
Haha thanks, it was, just want to do my part!
Can you imagine if Sega developed a new console in secret then launched it with new games of all their biggest franchises!
That would be amazing!
I would Explode!!!
It launched games more than 5 remakes or more like sequels. Just... not on a console
Sega Super's Exclusives:
Sonic The Hedgehog
Out Run
Sega Daytona USA
Sega Rally Championship
Panzer Dragoon
Phantasy Star
Virtua Fighter
Gunstar Heroes
Jet Set Radio
Shenmue
Virtua Racing
NIGHTS into Dreams
Yakuza
Streets of Rage
Shining Force
Skies of Arcadia
Billy Hatcher
Space Channel 5
Valk. Chronicles
Bayonetta
Persona
Shinobi
All of those titles can be reworked and redesigned to give other franchises a run for their money.
If sega will release a new console, I will leave PlayStation’s side and be on Sega’s side
Makes sense to me!
You would not, trust me. You’d be missing out on way too many games. I love Saga too, but they can’t hold a candle to Sony in the past present or the future.
New Sega console launching with Frontiers 2, Persona 6, Skies of Arcadia sequel would be epic
I'd like that!
Sega should try again and not rush it like spend years and good quality times with it before releasing it
I agree with that.

I truly wish to see Dreamcast 2 I can imagine how its game fascinating are they!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I'm loyal to Sega specially Dreamcast console
@@emadoraadgeorgeos1282 Great Taste! The Dreamcast is an amazing console, I love it!
DUDE.
That's what I'm saying!! So true!!
It's the technology.
SEGA is still waiting for the technology to catch up.
The PS5 and the Xbox Series X only have at best half what SEGA needs for a new console.
They could make up in innovation, the Switch is not as advanced as the PS5, but its a still a GREAT console. SEGA could do the same!
if i had a gaming company at that time, i would merge with sega to help them
Funny enough Microsoft said that they tried to absorb Sega a few years ago, but obviously didn't happen.
Never say never.

@@SegaSaturnGamer48
the new Sega console is real, it will be called Sega Saturn, the same name as the 1994 console
That sounds very reasonable, a lightweight console is perfectly fine and probably apt for the state that Sega is in honestly.
new sega's console is a ps6 level forget switch
This video doesn't have nearly enough views. Excellent rundown about why Sega® should produce a new innovative console for this era. I admire your initiative on getting SEGA® to produce a new console. You effectively articulated what most of us diehard Sega® fans feel and truly want. I'm not alone in saying that many of us feel short changed by SEGA® with their premature unprecedented withdrawal from the competitive console market.
Thank you so much! I really love the Dreamcast and SEGA has been such an innovator. I just feel like I have to do my part to make it known that we need a new SEGA console!
Everything you loved about Sega died when they merged with Sammy though. They're a holdings company now.

This video is very impressive. Great job. Thankyou for making it. I had great pleasure watching it in its entirety. I also pray to the pixel gods for sega to take the reigns again and give us what we need. Please Sega make a comeback!
Thank you so much! Yes, please Sega!
I'm pretty sure if Sega try to get back into the gaming market, the resulting loss of money will mean we will never see Sega again. They made terrible decisions back in the day, they still make bad decisions now. Just let it go dude, its never gonna happen.
Yea probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try.
Interesting point.
Multiple Nintendo consoles launched without a Mario game...
Which consoles pray tell?
Hardware is a losing battle for Sega against huge corporations Sony and Microsoft.
The only way Sega could get back in the hardware business would be to license a design to 3rd party companies to produce.
They would need big name companies with deep pockets onboard, like Apple or someone like that.
Maybe they would, or crowdsourcing, but they should try, I feel it would work!
The 6th generation of consoles had a great start for Sega as a 3rd party. But that may have been due to most of those games being already made for Dreamcast but just got passed over to Gamecube, XBOX, and PS2. Even the GBA got a few Sega gems despite THQ messing up most of them.

I honestly don't think Sega is ready to be a console company again yet. I've been saying lately that a nice halfway point is for them to release gaming laptops and PCs. Would be kind of cool to have a Sega brand gaming laptop and it would help them build their brand in terms of hardware.
Interesting point
@6:15 incredibly simple yet true. Why oh why can Nintendo survive with continued milking of their IPs yet SEGA cannot? Duh! If SEGA created a SWITCH Device that has exclusive IPs plus other major games? I would gladly give up my $$$. Imagine a SWITCH that can easily play Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games.
Salivating.
Man, I'm salivating right now!!
Happy to see I am not the only one who wants a new SEGA console.
Haha oh yea!!
Hey I'd be down to see that
I'll take a Sega themed Steam deck or Xbox at this point.
Who knows, hold out some hope!
@@hassyverse what about a SEGA NEPTUNE with some ports from SEGA Saturn To SEGA 32X CD. 32X games StarWars Arcade. Wing Wars From the Arcade.
That's all I'm saying!
at least this is an emotinal love letter. take care my friend.
Thanks!

Thank you for watching, I truly appreciate it and glad I could help you reminisce!
I definitely agree with that, its never too late!
it's a LOT of money to do that. If there was a merge between sega and another company, this could be more realistic. That being said, if for whatever reason, it came to be, I'd be a proud supporter of sega hardware.
It would be financially tough, but they are a successful company still and a big name. Even if they tried to crowdfund for extra support, people would show up!
Can someone make a custom sega dreamcast 2 please just do it
Sega needs to make it happen
Good luck man. I'm pushing for a new turbo grafx. Let's see who wins.
It may be a long fought battle after we're both gone lol
You bring the arcade experience home--not by building yet another mega-console--but by bringing the physical arcade standup home loaded to the gunholes with perfect arcade ports.
Hitachi made the SH-5, a 64-bit RISC monster that was capable of playing the code from the Dreamcast, Saturn, and even the 32X, and was powerful enough to emulate the older systems. There's no reason why an arcade cabinet can't be made for the home or even restaurants and movie theaters for no more than the price of a PS5/Xbox.
Sure I'd love to see arcades make a comeback, I just don't know if the portability would work nowadays, but who knows!?
@@hassyverse SEGA should make an arcade cabinet with 100+ legacy games, but make it a kind of console that plays BluRays (and VR type games).

Well, anything? 🙂
I was just thinking about how cool it would be for them to make a new console
I know right!
Well, from the chart at about 2:51 the major console releases and add-ons were usually about three years apart, just with some new revisions or combo units in between, so mostly not too bad. Except where they released the 32X so close to the Saturn's release, that was a big snafu.
Thanks for the correction!
@@hassyverse Oh, I meant a snafu, by Sega! At least I think that's what I meant...
sega is not even longer making good games. it's another company who's just looking after profits.
secondly, they made console and game because of their arcade cabinet success, and arcade is no longer a thing anymore.
arcade racing cabinets in 2023 includes codemaster games. they made the cabinet, and let another "good enough" company make the game for them.
the cabinet is called sega grid deluxe cabinet.
Many games do suck. but they still have a few good IPs and they need to lean on that.
The sega we know died in 2004. they down sized a few years ago and their software is hit or miss now a days
give us about 3 high quality sonic games in a row
in then maybe I would buy a new sega system
Well we are two games in, Frontiers and Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. Just one more right haha!
Proabably not, but we can only hope
Sadly they won’t come back with there already being 3 major competitors. I mean look what happened to the Atari VCS, they are releasing its games on other consoles.
Sure but as iconic as Atari is, Sega is waaaaayyy beyond them in popularity!
For a Dreamcast 2, I would have all of their past games online either in a Game Pass type of service or as digital downloads. Maybe have their arcade games as the service and pay for online multiplayer and have the console titles released as downloads. That could work.
Similar to the Nintendo Switch route, I can see that working actually.
sega shouldn't, no yet anyways, 4 major home consoles would cause far too much saturation. as much as i would like to see them have another shot, someone has to go first.
That is a good point but honestly I don't see any of them leaving anytime soon.
How about using Dragon Triangle and preventing Sega CD,Sega 32X,Sega Dreamcast from happening(at least delaying it for 2 years back then)because it’s one of ways to time travel?
Good thing tho they coming back in 2026 good news
Do you know something we don't? Lol
@@hassyverseprobably, let’s just hope I’m not wrong.
awesome !
Thanks!
I haven't heard about this
I think, if the "Microsoft Buying Sega" rumour really become true, (which is a possibility, idk how likely though, but i think it's definetly possible). Sega would tecnically come back to the home console market. though not the way i think you would want, right?
Not the way I'd want to see. I think it'd be a disservice because Sega is capable of doing so much more.
Completely understandable
Good points!
Send one to Sega of Japan.
Yes!
@@hassyverse agree
Wouldn't say the Saturn lacked any notable games. Similar lineup to PS but with added Sega arcade conversions to compete with PS and Namco. Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Cop, Daytona, House of the Dead etc. All mirrored over on PS. Tomb Raider, Wipeout, Alien Trilogy, Resident Evil. Again all mirrored on the PS. Sega have the IP but not the money or tech staff anymore at the moment
Ah interesting case, good points there.
3:30 Nintendo HAS made that rookie mistake!
Thanks for the Um Actually!
soon, we are few months to the reveal
Fair point. This is more of a generalization argument abotu Sony and Microsoft, there are several exceptions sure.
Sega will not produce a new console unless the chip shortage is no longer a thing plus they seem to be content by just making their IPS available in other systems.
They do seem to be content, but thats why we have to show them its time for a change!
I'm pretty sure they would need some scathing funding as well... 😂
They will need more money no doubt!
I wonder if playstation paid to keep 3rd party games off of Dreamcast
I haven't heard that one.
Sega will have the same competitiveness problem today as it did in the late 90s
They wouldn't need to compete, its about finding their niche, and like Nintendo has done, Sega could so that as well. There are plenty of people who buy a Nintendo and Sega console, just need a justified reason to.
@@hassyverse Nintendo is not a niche brand. They are competitive.
Sega never made money with their hardware, only with software. That’s probably why they are sitting comfy right now while they can release their games on all platforms.
True, but their original consoles were very innovative even if they ultimately didn't sell as well.
*Sega needs to get ahead of the bullet and make a Mobile VR device* 👌
100% agree and great opening for Sega to get into!
I'm sure sega will get right on it, a channel with 130 subs can't possibly be ignored 😂
Look gotta dream the big dream
This has nothing on the ps2 having had both the range on the ps2 is just unbelievable.
PS2 is a great console and contributed to Sega's downfall, but I think 20+ years could humple them to do better now
If Sega kept making consoles I think the quality of their games would be more than 10 times better than they are on Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft consoles.
Its's a good strategy, maybe they should listen.
as much as I think it's unlikely Sega will go back to making consoles after all these years (especially because they'd probably need a lot of third-party support as well to make a successful console), honestly I think it'd be cool if they did come back successfully and brought some fresh air into the video game industry
if they did come back and their new console allowed to play multiplayer without needing a subscription, I think that could already heat things up if they could get enough good multiplayer games on it
Yea and I feel they would follow in that direction and would separate them from other consoles.
I would love that, my first own Console was the Sega Mega Drive. But sadly, at this point, they are better off with being 3rd Party. Or maybe team up with Nintendo exclusively. Sega is already really lucky having partnered with Atlus.
Probably so but it doesn't hurt to try, that was the goal.
We can only hope right?
Sega could do it! They need to give it one more attempt and they Very well could strike gold! Would Love to see them surpass Nintendo. They could come up with a unique innovative console with a one of a kind revolutionary Sonic game and they could do it. They should remarket the original Sega Genesis and make games for it also. Sega could make a new version with HDMI for those who would want to play on modern tvs and a original av input for those who would like to play on original TV. Sega give it another attempt!
I think Sega could do it, I really do.
Totally agree. :^)
Maybe one day theg will. :-)
I hope so!
'4:06 so easy to port arcade games on dreamcast, that they cancelled daytona 2...
I mean they all can't be winners
As much as i would absolutely love this, ive made peace with the fact that SEGA may never make another video game console again in the company's or any of our timelines. Even if they did make consoles again, what would really change? Everything new and fresh that SEGA did in the past is pretty much commonplace in today's gaming ecosystem.
Fair enough, but remember there is so much out there we can't even comprehend or imagine happen.
The game library is what made sega good not the console they should stick to the games
Sure but the consoles were creative and support the games, hardware is just as important as software, even if theirs was not as financially as successful
Oji-san: _"お尋ねします。*あなたは...* 私の甥ですか?"_
well i know everyone don't like the new sonic game think they are bad but for me i love the new sonic games they wasn't bad to me they was great games to me the only sonic game i didn't like is sonic chronicles dark brotherhood and that's not all i want to sayit doesn't matter to me if video game console hardware has dvd player or not and i also think it doesn't matter to me if video game hardware has alot of games or don't have alot of games only have little bit of games and it doesn't matter to me if a video game hardware does well popular or don't do well unpopular because i hate populairty and i don't care about populairty at all ithink populairty is overrated in my difference honest unpopular opinion and i'm only a fan of sega and atari the sega saturn and sega dreamcast is not a failure to me it was amazing the best successful system to me in my book in my eyes but i respect everyone's difference opinions and point of view truth take on things i just want to share my unpopular point of view truth take believes as well by thinking for myself i would love to see sega make a comeback with hardware market so badly
Yea i agree with that, I just know unfortunately money does talk so it would need to be popular enough to sell well, but I think a new console could!
