I was receiving message " Access denied ... or the disk may be locked...You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode and make sure the disk is unlocked." I ran cmd as administrator and chkdsk command working as described in this video. Issue resolved. Thank you

I have a corrupted internal hard disk, right now I'm using that internal HDD as external device using USB cable & my system is running on SSD. I've followed the procedure by using chkdsk command in CMD as administrator & fixing operation was successful for the selected drive of the corrupted HDD, but still I can't open the drive. It's showing "parameter is incorrect,drive is inaccessible" like earlier. Please help me with any other options to recover data from corrupted drive..

Hi I was facing the same issue and I tried chkdsk method but it took more than 45 mins and all the segments or file was unreadable. I stopped this in this middle now my disk is unrecognised in the My pc folder .. help me recover my data! I have previous 10 years of work in this.

how to check the drive to see if anything was written to it before it stopped working? the white light on my wd external drive doesnt come on, it worked on my old pc, not on new one, i tried a laptop i couldn't figure out. please help.
