Starbucks should employ this person to make these bags to sell at their stores. Customers could bring in coffee bags and Starbucks gives them to her. She makes a living, less bags get thrown away and Starbucks makes money. Win win win!
how cool. we all need a waterproof tote. i am thinking whether to make one with cat food packages. i have to wash them...my 2 cats eat so much and i throw so many packets away!
Love this upcycled bag. We go through a lot of coffee too. What size needle did you use?? Is it better to attach lining to the coffee bag panels, as you did? Or sew the lining as a bag & attach at the top edge? I wonder if there is any way to use coffee bags for the handles? Seems quite strong. Thank you for this tutorial… had it saved for a long time, but in past year or so, been saving pretty aqua/light blue bags & now it’s time to do something with them.
I used regular size for cotton 11/12 is fine, the reason I sew the lining is to make it stronger not that easy to break off like usual plastic bag do. If you going to make the handle with it, you can patch those bags 1st and cut the right size you want and sew it into tube shape as a bag handle. Glad that you like my video 😊
Thanks Sashira. Great idea. Do you make the handles or can you buy them from somewhere? I don't know anything about sewing but maybe I can learn the basics. My wife knows how to sew but says making tote bags is just another crazy project! Kind regards Michael
Hi, I buy this linen bag handle from japan glocery store- Daiso. ( I'm from Malaysia) I'm not sure your country have this kind of store or not, maybe you can check out your local art & material shop? Or ebay or amazon buy online ? You can use any material you like for handle not necessary to look just like mine. I thank you for your kind words. I appreciate. Hope you both enjoy this fun handmade project together 🙏❤☺
I love mine. Made in a Workshop by less fortunate people. Ive been carrying my groceries in it for years. Had to reinforce the handles and now it's quite worn that's why I looked up the tutorial to see how to sew one myself.

Гарна сумка. А я в якості подкладки використовувала звичайний пластиковий пакет. Теж гарно вийшла. Бувайте здорові, наснаги та миру вам!
