Being from South Africa the first segment was hilarious😂😂. Honestly speaking, Lobola was culturally initiated to give the bride's family appreciation for raising their bride and creating relations. So the requirements show how well behaved the bride was before getting married. It's what distinguishes a relationship from Boyfriend and girlfriend from Husband and Wife. I don't agree with "beauty" being part of the requirements though, there are less good looking people worth more than pretty people.
We do it too in our culture (Somali culture).

Lobola is a bride price that the groom and his family must give to the bride's family. Usually, the bride's family is the one that sets the price or number of cows. 1 cow is like 9000 or something in South Africa
I come from Zimbabwe and the country just removed the requirement of lobola for marriages to count as legal marriages!

I am South African and I can tell you no one is worth 1 cow.
being from South Africa...generally the more educated the women is ,the higher her Lobola will be. Women with kids are generally valued less(hence the Lobola will be lower)....also there is no set amount for lobola, each family decide how much they want for their daughter.
I wish the national average of gas is still $2.42..smh.
